hi everyone! hope everyone is having a great time and recovering well! i am 7 days into my pre- op and i have lost 11 pounds. i am doing 3 shakes a day and 80+ ounces of clear fluids. i pee all day! its insane like i feel like im always running to the bathroom with the kiddos. I have 4 days til my surgery is anyone else experiencing irritability and crankiness? every soudn seems louder and smells seems more fragrant. i cook every night for the kids it is torture. last night they wanted to go to the movies so i took them and naturally i hold the youngest's popcorn bc she spills it everytime. the smell of popcorn was tempting me llol. I just learned i could season my broth with is nice but no salt. I am really anxious to just get the surgery oer with and start my healing. i feel like my body is going through such weird changes sometimes im freezing sometimes i feel like im in a suana. but usually always tired and low on patience haha.

good luck everyone!

Oh my gosh am I peeing every SINGLE place I goto...I think I'm driving my family nuts. And I completely relate to having to cook meals for my family & 'enjoy' that pre-op shake -- so far I have avoided the movies, I don't think I could resist the popcorn. The other night I had to eat my shake in the other room, My husband brought home TEX-MEX and I just didn't even want to smell it. Short of patience, I would say-- and I feel a little stupid sometimes, like I can't keep a thought in my head. Surgery is in three days so...keeping it together till Monday!

Down to 229. No pain but I feel a little weak or tired would be a better word. I have been taking my Vitamins and my Fluid intake is good I'm wondering if I need more Protein I'm taking at least 40gm. Premier Protein is 30gm and then the other stuff. I know it should be higher but I don't know how I feel full all the time. Maybe I need to slow down, I have been doing stuff around the house. Oh one more thing I noticed I've a always had Hair loss and I was expecting it but I thought it would be later like after 2 months or so, well I'm seeing the loss now. It's a lot more than the norm for me. I think I'll skip walking today. Talk you guys later. Enjoy your weekend.

Thank you Jenelle for posting your experience. I don't even have a surgery date but read through all of these threads. It helps to see a continuous post op. I know everyone will have a different experience but atleast it gives us an idea. Thanks!

Day 11. Still 229. Always eat new foods at home because u don't know if your pouch will like them. I noticed pudding and Peanut Butter are a quick trip to the bathroom. And also I can eat yogurt and cottage cheese and not feel too full like I feel w eggs. I'm loving the egg beaters. Walked today and I'm trying to get more Protein in. Loving my sleeve.

Thanks for sharing, this is great info. I wanted to ask if you've tried adding unflavored Protein Powder to your food, or chicken-flavored Protein to your broth. I dont knoe how it would taste so thought id ask. I'm still experimenting with protein powders but have only added them to smoothies.< /p>

I have not added unflavored Protein Powder. I have premier Proteins and that's what I'm drinking. I also have the Bariatric Advantage powder vanilla which I was drinking during my pre op diet but I think If I drink them now I'll feel too full and the blender leaves all these bubbles that might cause gas pain so right now Im sticking to Premier Protein. chicken broth is one of my favorite things right now so I wont add anything to it.

I have no problems with fluids, I still can't get my 64oz but I think I'm getting around 40 maybe a little more, which my DR. said is ok for the first month and to work my way up. Fluids, yogurt, cottage cheese and pudding don't make me feel as full. Scrambled eggs, Peanut Butter does. I have not venture with mashed potatoes or other stuff yet.

Today I went shopping, my jeans were loose. I'm 228 today. I don;t want to buy any clothes yet, but I keep looking at all the summer stuff and I can't wait. I didn't drink as much Water yesterday so my 228 was like 228.7 I am happy with that but I know it could have been less had I drank more Water. I'm only liking my egg beaters at this moment, they make me feel full longer, I don't think I could blend chicken or eat my food blended so I'm sticking to the eggs. I can't wait to go back to work and see if people notice the difference, My face looks slimmer for sure. I carried some bags today and then my side started hurting a little. So even when you feel good don't start lifting things and doing too much. I had to take my pain meds. So day 12 feels great, and everyday I'm glad I did it. I remember being so scared so anxious about the whole thing and now my worries are all about did I drink enough water, I'm I eating the right amounts etc, etc... It is a life changing decision that I don't regret. Talk to u guys later.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
