Hi guys!

Real quick: I'm in Tijuana. Did my pre op testing today and a few hours later I got a call from one of the doctors saying my bloodwork showed that my hemoglobin was 8.9 and that the dr. said I will need a blood transfusion.

Did anyone else have this experience?

Hiya not for bariatric surgery….but another type and i have to have a blood transfusion…after i got over the paranoia i was fine...

Yeah I'm freaking out just a tad! Second surprise of the day. I've NEVER came close to having something like a blood transfusion and this is adding to my stress and nervousness. Darn!

I remember a girl posting on here that she needed blood and she paid 250 and that was it.

Otown...did you have any idea that you were anemic and where are you? (HOSPITAL) who is your surgeon?

Yes I did. I've been taking iron pills. I didn't know that I would be required to have a blood transfusion. Dr.Garcia at Florence Hospital.

Did you have the procedure already.? If so how are you doing?

Good morning. I will also be first this morning for Dr Lopez because when they move from the marriott to pueblo amigo hotel they took me get all pre-op done and said I will be first. Pray for me and I will pray for you all. We shall all be successful.
