At the hospital waiting room for my pre op

Omg I'm waiting here at the hospital for my pre op and I'm nervous, I'm also getting a gastroscopy done and they're going to sedate me to put a tube with a camera down my throat. Has anyone had this procedure and is it bad/good, so nervous.......

As a nurse, I've seen it done many times. They should give you enough sedation that it won't be bad at all. Probably won't remember it or it will be really foggy. Just try to relax!

Ok thank you, I'm near tears lol

You will do great. See you on the skinny side. Wish you a quick recovery.

5-10 mins tops. You'll be fine. First person who looks like they have drugs, ask if you can have something early for anxiety. Just make sure you have signed your consent first!

God bless you Maltese Gal! I'll say a prayer right this minute for you...it's gonna go great! :)

Omg, thank you for this support! You all have made me feel so much better knowing I have my bariatric family here, only we understand each other I find, love you all!

Good luck to you today!

It's my great pleasure girl! We are all literally in this weight loss battle together. While too much of the rest of the world snarkilly looks down it's nose and advises you to "get some damned discipline and push away from the table!", we in this community know well there's a lot more to the obesity problem than a simple lack of discipline. We've been, and or are, there! But unlike all those who haven't yet found their way, we are the warriors who have chosen to take a stand and do something about our problem. That makes us very unique people. Gratz again on your decision to fight rather than to just lay down and, quite literally, die. My own surgery is in several weeks as well. I'm doing a pre op diet now, because I need to for longer due to my 54 BMI. I hope to lose 30lbs between now and then, and have already lost 13 lbs towards that end. I WILL achieve my goal. :)

Good luck! Update when you can and let us know how it went!
