Only you could get this kind of attention from the most simple of statements:

Here try some of these in place of the dreaded journey:

Verbs

travel, voyage, tour, trek, fly, sail, go, sight see, cruise, roam

Nouns:

trip, voyage, expedition, ride, drive, flight, passage, excursion, crossing, tour, trek, outing

Not me, surely?!

why i got fat.... i have been bored senseless most of my life!

i left the mothering.com forums 'cause no matter the forum, it was the same topics over and over and over. ::yawn::

yeah, i wonder sometimes what happen to laura-ven, gamer girl, butterthebean... they must have gone somewhere private and now things are even more boring around here!

private message me your book! i am interested! i need something more interesting than this cup of tea at 11pm on a rainy friday night.

I haven't written a book. Clearly you're talking about the Amazon book. You can buy it for Kindle download. I saw that. Its handy. I like technological developments. But I also still like the feel of old and fusty books. What a quandary.

As for the 'others'. I have no idea. I'm too wrapped up in my own personal fabulousness (read 'boredom') to worry :P

I will try not to bore you with my comments. And I won't take your comment about the others personally either. But I will say one thing and hope you understand this....When I am done here I have no plans to run away when things get a little to tough to handle or I need to have a break. I plan to stick around and help some who really need to be helped. Just like others did for me.

Ouch by the way. Slap!

No one was slapping, RJ!

oh you shouldnt take it personally, no not at all...

i should have said i have ADHD and i get very easily distracted and suffer from extreme restlessness that nothing except falling in love can cure! (which is dumb, cause one cannot repeatedly over and over fall in love)

it feels like chronic boredom.

be glad you dont have this, its annoying as hell and makes me crabby and irritating to other people, but mostly to me!

I sadly think you're mistaken. I can fall in love on a daily basis with wine, gin, vodka, lasagne, cocktails....

If I was bored here....I just wouldn't come here

lol Is that supposed to be 'incoming'..

tut tut.

I'm not bored now, obviously. People are uttering things other than how many edamame Beans they've consumed. Deep and meaningful? Mentally stretching and thought provoking? No - but neither was the rant. That's why it's in the rant and raves section in the first place.

Breaks the tedium. But not, sadly, the tedium of apparent attempted digs...

LMAO... yeah lots of fabulousness going on here....

i have to admit, i am a book whore, i will read them anyway they come... paper, kindle, nook, .pdf on my ipad... i am not fussy... i'll read them in the back of a car, in a dark alley, a park bench... my fav place is in bed though. preferably my bed, but i really dont care...

and i adore the word metamorphoses... but mine has felt more like... uh... an excavation i think. an archeological dig where you have to sift everything away in a fine screen, or use a brush to uncover the layers, bit by tiny bit.

not to be provocative... but one thing that really surprises me... there isnt a forum or even thread to talk specifically about food addiction. is it the word? ADDICTION. i am not sure why these surprises me, but it does. beyond the nuts and bolts of pre op and post op, i would think people would want to talk about recovery from and how to deal with food addiction. not 12 steppy stuff, just how to cope with life without medicating with food... a friend is having this surgery and she and i have spoken repeatedly about how to deal with everything from anxiety over work, to donuts in the break room, to physical pain to loneliness to, stress over money and everything else you can think of without using food to comfort, soothe and escape. it seems like its essential to being successful long term with this surgery.

i went to my irl support group and two of the women there were 3 years post op. they both said, "its a head thing now. not about food at all."

but i see forums for biker sleevers, tattooed sleevers and texas sleevers, but no forums on food addiction. **scratching my head**

And feel free to make fun all you want. It's been the center of entertainment for me and all my friends/coworkers/hairdresser/family/etc. for the last week. I can provide details of the procedure as well as hilarious real-life emergency BM stories if anyone is interested.

For this, sadly, I have no idea. Any time that word has come up, there's been a dearth of people arguing over the semantics in meaning. All very time consuming and deeply unhelpful.

I mean this sincerely - why not drop Alex a line. Its a valid point. Its a valid topic. Maybe somewhere, someone who is qualified in it, can provide some robust CBT exercises that we could all try to practice. I know I'd certainly give it a go :)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
