Oh my I'm very sorry to hear that. All of this couldn't happen soon enough. Turns out for myself the coordinator has not even submitted my packet to my insurance yet. I wasn't all that happy about it, but with how I feel I just want everything done yesterday. I'm sure you understand as you are suffering.

Please keep in touch and let me know how you're doing.

I had my revision on the 9th. I'm doing fine only the pain is pretty bad. Other than that my reflux is GONE!!! I'm so thankful for that. :)

Hi all

I had my mini gastric bypass (omega loop) 7 days ago. Previously I had a sleeve and before that a lapband.

Also had a hiatal hernia fixed and am still in hospital but that's because I developed a chest infection after surgery.

MGB-wise though the pain wasn't too bad. My surgery took 3 hours, longer than expected, but my surgeon has only just started doing MGBs... And my stomach has been though a lot in the past since the lapband mangled it lol

Looking forward to heading home tomorrow or the day after if this cough would clear up!

Hi all. Having lap band to RNY in the morning (9/29/2014). (-: It's been a long wait. I had my lap band in 2009 at 250 lbs. Stayed at around 220 for the next few years. Did Medifast and got down to 199 but gained it back plus some. I had the Fluid taken out of my band four months ago due to signs of erosion, acid reflux and in preparation of RNY. Gained almost 25 pounds in 4 months following the fluid being taken out. Ugh. So, going in tomorrow I should be about 251-252. If it's less (due to the 3 day pre-op diet) great, if not, that's okay too. I have no doubt I'll lose it. I've researched this like crazy. Read every book, success and failure story I could find. I really understand the life changes I need to make this time and can't wait to make them. Couch potato to 5k is my first one - 2015 Disney Princess Half Marathon is the second! Anyway, I look forward to giving some updates to how it goes. I don't post much but reading all of yours has been invaluable. I'm wishing us all good health and success!!!

Kathi

Hey flagirlintx,

My story is very very very similar to yours, even down to the weight :) I had my band out in February and my bypass is October 2nd! I'd love to hear how yours went! Hope it went great!

Tammy

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
