Hello, again I am new to this forum. I will be banded Monday in Mexico. Live in Las Vegas. I am delighted to read all the information contained in the various threads. Particularly interested if anyone out there knows Bill Wilson? If so pls communicate. Thanks.

Good luck on your surgery. I was banded by Dr Kuri in Mexico on March 20th. Great experience....great Doctor / hospital....Spanish was an issue but not too bad.

Keep us posted:D B):P :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :) :)

Who is banding you? If my insurance denies me, I want to have it done in Mexico. I am researching doctors now, just in case. I welcome any suggestions!

Hi Anniejo and :welcome: to LBT! Congratulations on your surgery date and we wish you the best. I'm not a personal friend of Bill Wilson, but I have friends who are. Hang in there, they will get in touch soon,

Dr. Alberta Aceves in Mexicali. My cousin had hers done there in October and she is doing great and reported it as a top notch experience. She did a lot more investigation that I have done. Though I did attend a seminar here in Lost Wages (Las Vegas) AFTER making the commitment to Aceves, my husband learned a lot and I was validated in my decision. Aceves has been highly recommended by others on HIS site, of course, he wouldn't have negative comments posted. I dealt w/"Ishi" and she was very VERY helpful on an almost immediate reply w/info to my many questions. Good Luck. I have heard the insurance approval is usually a very long deal, but of course worth it to many folks. jb

Although I'm not a friend of Bill, I am a friend of Lois. You are going to find friends here and I wish you the best of luck in the future. Remember easy does it and one day at a time. :)

Well you are a real WINNER! What a weight loss. If it weren't for Lois I doubt there would have been a Bill. My friendship with Bill started 8/23/73. My BMI 34 and scheduled for banding Monday next!!! eek I can't sleep. Going to Dr. Aceves in Calexico about 5 hr drive from here in Vegas. Going with 2 friends of Bill the husband will be banded, and my husband also a friend of Bill's. So what a group we will be!! Thank you for your support. My biggest fear(s) are: 1. I'll get there and find out I can't have the surgery and 2. I'll get it and it won't work. Don't have any "reasonable" concerns that would support these fears. Guess I just want it so much. jb

Isabelle290,

If your insurance denies you, you might want to consider Dr. Kirshenbaum. There is a thread on here somewhere about him. He trys to compete with the prices in Mexico and I have read good things about him. He is in Colorado.

I just had my surgery in Mexico by Dr. Kuri. My insurance wouldnt pay for it so i decided on mexico becuz of costs. I was impressed with the facility and with Dr. Kuri. It was very clean and modern.

Google him if you want more info. There's a nice wikipedia about him and his lovely wife, Lois.

I did, thanks.
