The first few days after surgery, I was recovering at my parents place and mom made lasagna. Even though I wasn't hungry or really craving it, I has visions of diving face first into that platter and swimming around in it lmao

I'm a 21st sleever too! I am on purées now and am struggling. I really cant stand eating paste like stuff. I kind just mush things around to make them purée like. I had a cup of French onion Soup from panera for dinner and snack tonight. 1/2 dinner 1/2 snack. I just chewed the onions well. No croutons though. I actually felt like a normal person for a little bit. lunch was egg drop soup. Snack was a la yogurt that I ended up dumping. Dont eat those, I felt horrible. Breakfast was egg salad. So far no problems...

pureed foods just dont sound appetizing. Im pretty sure I wont be that creative with that stage. I have a 1yr old with only 2 teeth so me and him will probably be eating the same thing. Lol

Tonight's dinner: about 2 tbsp ricotta, 1/2-1 oz mozzeralla, I slice lean ham chopped up. Micro for a minute. God it tasted like the inside of a calzone. Yum! But I could only eat half :(

I can't wait for purée! Lol there are actually a ton of things you can eat. There is a thread dedicated to purée on here. I don't remember how to get there but enter it in the search section. Also, check out The World According to Eggface. She's got amazing sounding recipes. Basically we just have to stick it out these few weeks and then we start our New Normal.

I never had a puréed phase? I'm on week two post op diet and I went from liquids to being able to have loose oatmeal/cream of wheat Greek yogurt apple sauce cottage cheese and loose mashed potatoes. I guess that's kinda puréed though?? Hahah my doc has specific foods I can eat at each level. If it's not on the list I can't have it. He musts said that a thousand times!! Ugh! Next Sunday I can have many more things! Looking forward to it but for now I'm happy with not having to have liquids only!! Hah I have my little two oz cups I am measuring everything out with!! This amount seems to be just right!

Thats the same with my doctor. He has a list for every stage and wants me to stick to each stage list. The list for liquids is minimal but soft foods has more variety. Every doc and plan is different

Today is my first day trying semi/soft solids. I am eating some rotisserie chicken with Greek yogurt, salt, pepper an cayenne for seasoning. It's actually pretty good. I'm making sure I chew it well, even after unused a chopper to blend it all together.

This morning was Greek yogurt, then a chocolate-peanut butter Protein shake (they're heaven!!) and now this chicken salad. So far, so good.

I'm down to 249.4 which is 17.6 pounds down from my surgery date so I'm super excited! :)

How's everyone feeling?

You sound great! I am doing good too. I have been eating some mushies for a few days now. All seems good except for a la yogurt over the weekend. Today I have some mild dull aches on my left side under my boob. Anyone else dealing w this? My glue over my incisions has started falling off. One got caught in my night gown so I am protecting it with a band aid and neosporin. Including that one, I have 4 glue less incisions. What else have you tried eating? Tonights dinner is refried Beans, a little light sour cream, some food processed ground beef, a touch of taco sauce and some cheese. Sounds like a lot right? It all amouts to a 1/4 cup, lol.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
