Finally Approved After 3 Years
So finally after 3 years of fighting with my past insurance I am approved! I used to have BCBS IL and switched to IL Health Alliance through my employer. They approved me within a few hours! BCBS IL denied me three times and after peer to peer they still didn't approve because they said GERD was not enough to do a revision. Surgery is in three weeks!

Slightly Discouraged
I have a non-functioning head of my pancreas, which means it is working as though I don't have one.

Slightly Discouraged
I actually had the same issue. I had a distal pancreatectomy. My cyst was on the body of my pancreas. It was found during routine scans. And you can live without a pancreas. I have the head but it doesn't work. So I am a diabetic now. But i'm grateful to be alive. I did as well lost my spleen due to the location. I'm post sleeve going to bypass.

Health Alliance for Revision
Has anyone dealt with Health Alliance for a revision. Some yrs ago I had BCBSIL and they didn’t even want to cover my hernia repair let alone the revision. So here I am three yrs later trying it again. The only difference is this i Sudan remains requires you to meet all requirements plus have a complication. I’m just nervous of trying it again to be let down and still be in pain.

How to deal with severe Gerd
@@swimbikerun the dr I have is the only one bcbsil will cover that's near me. He has fought with my insurance since about May to have the revision but nothing. Bcbsil told him there is nothing more that he can do to fight it. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

How to deal with severe Gerd
Because my revision to bypass was denied I have deal with my hiatal hernia and my severe Gerd. My Gerd is so bad I'm on at least 4 to 5 different meds and I still wake up throwing up acid. My insurance won't cover anything and was told to treat medically. How do you deal with this? My hernia is ok, I can't breathe very wells and have chest pains but it's there. I knew something was wrong when I went to the gym and couldn't do the elliptical. But my dr told me to deal with it now and learn to maintain it. But how? Revision denied due to being experimental
@@LisaMergs I tried to get his name, bcbsil told me due to regulations I couldn't have his name. I gave up trying, figured easier just to switch to a wls friendly insurance. Even my surgeon has yet to stop trying. I have never heard him cuss a day in my life until he spoke of this man. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Changing insurance question
Does anyone have Cigna for a revision and didn't have them before? I'm wanting to switch to them but don't want to if they like to give the run around. I'm leaving BCBSIL and heard good thing about them but it was always someone who didn't have any bariatric surgery. Any advice would be loved! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
