April 7 People Check in here!

One week to go. Oh heavenly mercy, I am equal parts nervous and excited!! I'm already wondering how I'm going to keep myself busy this week. I am having severe nesting syndrome like before having my babies!!

I thought it would be good for all of us expecting surgery on the same date to have a place to check in this week while we wait to talk about worries, issues, excitement, anything that is on our minds as we prepare for one of the biggest changes of our lives.

I am a Texas girl so I hope to spend a lot of time out in my garden this week enjoying the warmer weather and getting some spring flowers into the ground. My pre-op diet is low carb, high Protein, so nothing too outrageous until the day before surgery.

Chime in and let us know who you are so we can have a lot of support around us this week, and especially next week as we deal with the hospital stay and recovery at home.

Many blessings to all of you!

Yes thank u tgard I am on my monthly so I get little craving here and there but I'm thinking the last two days will be yogurt and liquids. I'm very nervous and excited at the same time I kinda forgot where I need to enter in lol that's how shock I am it's almost here

Congrats to all of you April 7 losers. Your new birth date will be amazing. How are you all handling liquids for two weeks? Does it get easier. I most likely will be end of May due to personal reasons.. Moving my son to S. Carolina for the summer. So no lifting for me.

So happy fir all of you. Keep us posted.

WhooHooo! Last day of work before the big day. We are almost there! What is everyone doing to keep themselves busy for the weekend. I have a final that I am to distracted to study for (thankfully it is open book). I plan to clean my house and pack. Has anyone started packing yet?

Packing is on my list for tomorrow. I went to Walmart (I hate Walmart) and bought some cheap, loose pjs and a loose sundress to wear while I am there and home. I knew I wouldn't be able to fit in them long, so I didn't want to spend too much money! Hence, the Walmart trip. This weekend I'm helping with some of my daughter's activities and hope to get together with some friends tomorrow night. Sunday is packed full of church activities, and before I know it, Monday morning will be here.

Clear liquids has been rough. I have not been perfect, but I'd say 90% of the time I have stuck with it this entire 2 weeks. Can't believe it's almost here! I've been trying to keep busy, and luckily I have church stuff this weekend so I know it will fly by.

I do have one concern. I have a good support system as far as mt hubby and my mom, but my sister is not so encouraging. She has been telling me things like she cannot understand why I would do this to myself and why can't I just lose it on my own. I don't know if it is jealousy, or if she is afraid of losing me or both. Just wish I had her support too.

U will eventually get her support after the process It will happen . When I tell those who knows I'm having the surgery I say it's not the easy way out. I still need to work out and follow a diet . Just this is helpful for me especially when u have been overweight your entire life and u hit plato. We need this boost or need this to help with our physical disabilities which ever it maybe. Just sad for me I kinda feel like now how close my surgery ppl around have been changing attitudes towards me. All I can do is ignore but hurts when it's the ones u cared for the most. I feel like my support system from my mom is declining

I know exactly what you all mean. My duh has been supportive one day and not the next. It is stressing me out. He's been good since I started the pre-op diet. I had to have my BFF have a talk with him. She told him he can't keep going back and forth, and that if he said he will support me thy he has to do that now because its his job as my husband to keep his promises to me. I think after the deed is done, it is easier for the skeptics to get on board

omg...One more day. My pre op diet was not that bad. It seems like I can barely drink 3 shakes a day. Don't get me wrong, I am hungry, just when i start to drink one of my shakes or drink my broth. I am lucky if I can get half down. Is this normal?

I still think it is so interesting how different all of our pre-op diets are! Today is the only day I have to do clear liquids only. Went last night out to dinner with hubby and had a salad, asparagus, and a delicious grilled pork chop. Today is a different story! Took a big travel mug of lemon tea to church, just finished a big mug of broth, and now having a popsicle before I head to the grocery story. Going to spend today doing little chores and making sure I have everything in order for my mom to take care of my kids.

How are the rest of you holding up? What are you doing today to keep yourselves busy?

Can't sleep, I need 7am to get here. I'm in Mexico and nervous. Please somebody send me some positive vibes

Good luck Papgrimace, hope you were able to get some sleep. I had to take some benadryl myself. I'm leaving to take my son to daycare now, and then DH is driving me to check-in. Everyone please check in when you are feeling up to it. I want to know that everyone did great!

I came out of surgery about 2pm EST, and I'm now in my room, eating ice chips! Pain is being managed with an IV med for now,and that is good, because it is pretty intense, but I'm thinking that will improve drastically once I'm up and walking. So far so good. Anyone else?
