I know this seems very vain however, can anyone tell me when they started to see their scars fade and what did you use to make them go away? I know everyone's skin is different!!! Thanks

I'm not sure how fast mine started to fade, but at 15 months post-op, my 4 small incisions look like (dime sized) faded freckles. The big incision is very faded (compared to right after surgery) and just looks like someone made a 2 inch horizontal line on my stomach with a brown highlighter! :-P

Here's the big scar, the small ones don't even show up when I try to take a pic.

I had my sleeve done laporoscopic surgery on Feb 26... I can hardly see the tiny marks from the surgery... I wouldn't even call them scars at all....... the only ones that are darker are the two tiny marks on my navel.... that really aren't noticable and even if i ever got thin enough to wear low wasted pants and short tops ( mid drift) exposing my abdoment people would probably just think that the marks if they are stil there on either side of my navel might be from a belly button ring piercing LOL...... :D My doc is an excellent surgeon .... he did a wondeful job and didn't make my abdoment look scarred up....:)

I used Maderma, but at 3 mos. the scars are still pretty visible (especially the big one).

I'm using Maderma but it's so darn expensive for such a little tube the scars will never fade without breaking the bank

My big scar is raised and puffy, that runs in my family. If I ever have a bikini body I'll just tell people I was stabbed... they'll think I'm tough lol...

Bio oil and Vitamin E cream are great, affordable options. My friends who just had babies rave about bio oil. Good luck! I like the stabbing idea lol! I scar badly. I had a small, benign tumour cut out of my back and the scar it twice the size of the tumour! It looks like a bullet scar, so I tell people my partner shot me when it tried to leave! He's a darling btw lol

I hope mine will fade with time....the other day my mom was looking at my belly and told me it looked like I had been stabbed multiple times. Not exactly the look I want to have!

Im grateful for my stab wounds. They remind me what I've committed to. I am about 5 months out and they're starting to fade. I don't put anything special on them, as my skin tends to heal pretty well.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
