Thank you everyone. I never knew it would be like this. Having a grandson is so wonderful. The only bad thing is that he is in Texas and I am in Tennessee. I was ther when he was born and then we came back home. But, I am going next week to help out. The other Mother is there this week. I fully understand my DIL, I wanted my Mom with me for the first week or so. Excited and can't wait. And, I will have more pictures.....LOL

On a diffrent note, I am unfilled down to .5 cc. (heartburn and reflux problem) It has been a challenge but I have not gained anything. I was supposed to go in for a fill next week, but that will have to be put on hold. So I just keep eating salads and fruit and staying away from the Ice Cream and Chocolate....one day at a time.

Good for you, I too need to stay away from the chocolate and ice cream and popsicles....I haven't been able to eat alot as I irritated my stoma and i've gotten in a bad bad habit again....you inspire me though knowing i'm not the only one who fights this...hello how did all these people get chubby in the first place if they were able to resist such temptations....I feel like such a loser sometimes....

I had such big plans for today...I've got 25 people comeing over for a BBQ on Sunday and I was going to get so much done today (my day off), but I feel like crud! Slight fever with body aches and massive headache. In the past I'd take a couple Excedrine and press on, but my band seems to be reacting to whatever little virus this is, and I'm "gurggling" on water. I'm back to refux again too...haven't had that problem since before band. OK, enough whining, just needed to vent!

I think I'll go make some broth...yum?!?

Laura...He is beautiful! What a great time of life! My kids are 21, 18 & 14, so I'm starting to see that in the near (10 yr) furture...what a blessing! Just think of how much more you can be involved and active as the new you...so exciting!

Sue

SUE - Thanks.... Sure hope you get to feeling better.

Mischievous1 - It is not easy, some days I just throw it all to the wind and say what the heck, I am going to eat what I want. I read a book "It's Not About The FOOD" that was recommended by the shrink who did my evaluation. I was real good, talked about food addictions, etc. It talked about at least knowing why you are eating something and just accepting it. And then start to work on what is causing the problem. Exampe: I tend to overeat after work, I then realised I was feeling the stress of the day at that time. Even though I still overate the next day, I understood and listened to my body and accepted why I was overeating to comfort myself due to the stress of the day. So then I started to work on my stress issues. Then when I come home after work, I judge my stress level, and go for a walk or something. It has helped me alot. But I am a food addict, it is a day to day process.

What a cutie.. congrats!!

We are in St. Louis on vacation...visiting the inlaws and eating lots of Bosnian food... a few too many PB's... ugh.... I've been taking it easy the past few days... trying to stay clear of the sweets!

Well it's been a year and although i've been really stressing about EVER posting ANY pics of myself online (I mean you never know who may get ahold of them and try to use them in a bad way...right? LOL) anyway, I posted recent ones on the photo thread, but here's a side by side....it makes me happy to see these so this is actually therapeutic as i've been down on myself for only losing 40#, but you know what? I don't look to bad and I FEEL good and i'm noticing people are looking at me again (men and woman) so it's good to be a part of society again and if you've ever been overweight you know EXACTLY what i'm talking about!

Love you fellow May Bandsters and keep up the good work...let's make 2008 an even skinnier and healthier year!? First one is last year's summer cruise and the second is me on the train to Seattle last weekend.

I'm the same way about posting pics on the internet, Mischevious. But you look great!! I can definitely tell a difference.

Here are my before and afters. I'm not crazy about the afters, but they are all I have sooo...

OMG you guys.........YOU LOOK HOT!!!!!!!! Isn't such a great feeling!!!

All I have to do is show people my Dr. Lisc picture and they go thats not you!!! I had so much weight just in my face...CARBS EVIL CARBS and now that I am down the weight I still am trying to focus on my goal of getting to the normal BMI range. I love reading these posts because you guys always help me feel good about KEEP ON TRUCKIN!!! You guys have really made the Band a success!!! Don't you just want to go up to every person that is Obese and say listen I want to tell you about this GREAT thing called the Lap Band.....but of course you can't as they might slug you. It is a very personal thing to decide and I am so glad I did it. I finally have this OBESE thing tamed and getting the bull by the horns as they say. No more overeating obsession. One day at a time for sure and I am glad that today I am down to a size 14 from a size 18 scraping a 20. My goal is a size 12 and I am ALMOST THERE!!!! KEEP THE FAITH! You guys ROCK!!!!!!!

Thanks for sharing your most personal experience to share with others going threw the same!

Thank you Vikki, for your comments! I am also headed toward being NORMAL weight. I think I can do it! I feel like the Little Engine That Could. :-) Twelve more pounds and I'll be there.

For me, every day is a celebration!

Omg! You Look Great!

Hey Guy, How is everyone? I just got back for spending a week with my wonderful, beautiful, sweet grandbaby. It was nice to just hold him and help my daughter-in-law out a little.

BUT, on the down side, I NEED A FILL, I have been bad bad bad. Why is it that I have worked so very hard to get where I am, and I know how to eat right, I have been exercising.......get unfilled and my mind is saying "go on, you can eat that NOW" (pizza, hamburgers etc.) I have got to get a grip on this..... have not gained any weight back, but I see it coming soon if I keep this up any longer. Time to get my "silicone sister" involved again. That is why I got her in the first place, to help keep me on track. You know it is hard in some way to admit that you have a bad eating problem, food addiction etc. But I do, it is with me each day, but so is my band.......

Take care all

Laura
