May Miracles doesn't feel right for this non-religious person... and perhaps some others, too.

Right of course. I was not thinking of miracle in a religious sense, but that is me!

May Motivators?

Hey...do you guys know if we can put a poll IN a thread... or does it have to be a separate thread?? Maybe we can put a poll up for our new name... Mayzie Daisies, May Poles (my favorite), MayFlowers, May Minis... and all the other great suggestions.. (I like the ide of adding a slogan too.)

That's a great idea! I wonder, too. Personally, I like Mayflowers. It reminds me of the pilgrims journey to the "new world". In a way, we are all new pilgrims on our own journey to find our "new worlds".

I love all the suggestions! My jr. High teacher called me slats when I was a kid because I was tall and flat as a board! May Pole brings back some memories, now I look nothing like a board . . . . more like a balloon!

The journey idea is great because we are definately on the journey to our new world!!! Gotta go to nutrition class . . . bye

sillywillymommy - I suggested May flowers way back on page 6 of this thread but no one responded. I still like the name! We could put it right under our name and then no matter what thread we were on everybody would know we were part of the May banders. I like it as one word 'Mayflower" and then something catchy like 'bloomin from within' or something like that.

Wenjea,

I second that! Catchy little name. I think it will be nice to see at a glance the other May bandsters!

Oh dear, talk about a nightmare!! Last night I dreamed I ate a filet mignon. I could even smell it. I guess Day 8 of just liquids got to me! Even a plain head of lettuce sounds appealing. How scary. It is MUCH better now, but still!

NVGirl, phuber40 and PghMomof3,

Good luck to all of you! Prayers are being said!

I LOVE the daisy logo! (I might even find a little spot to put a tattoo like that on my flat belly in a year or so!!! HA! I wish!)

Anyway, I like all the ideas...I think my fav so far is Mayflowers. (kind of reminds me of the pilgrims, though...but...they DID embark on an exciting journey!!)

For all of you on the "other" side, thanks for your updates. It sure makes me less nervous about the whole thing.

Everyone have a great week...only 4 days to go! Can't believe it's here!

I like the daisy and the slogan, but could we get it without the black background? It seems kind of depressing............ I don't know if we could maybe make it smaller, that way with our tickers it would not take up a whole lot of room. Just a thought........

My first post. I'll be banded May 17th..I'm so glad to join you.

I do have a funny story to share.

I went to my doctor appointment on Friday, and saw, in the waiting room, someone who regularly posts here. I've been reading for months, and when I saw her, I immediately knew who she was. It was like seeing a celebrity.

I didn't say anything...it felt a bit like stalking. ("Hey, you don't know me, but I know who you are." It was just funny.

Anyway, good to be here.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
