I had to take a 5 hour education class this past week and it was very informative and I got a lot of samples of Protein and Vitamin stuff. BUT, it felt like I was in the class foreeeevvver. It went by so slow, I felt like I was back in school again lol

Awesome! I start my pre op diet Wednesday and I'm excited and not at the same time! Excited because it means surgery is near but nervous because I'm scared of how I'm gonna handle liquids only for two weeks... It's weird that so many people have different pre op diets... What does your dr have you doing?

Hi Ladies,

I know my date will be in April but I do not have a definite date, yet. I share the excitement and nervousness. I am so inspired reading all the success stories. I definitely need buddies. I am happy that we can all go through this together. I am in Raleigh, North Carolina.

I've noticed that about everyone's diets being so different. I was so worried I would have to be on all liquids but luckily that is not the case. My 2 week diet consists of 3 meals a day high in Protein and very low in carbs. Each meal I can have up to 3 oz of a lean meat high in Protein, and 1 cup of vegetables. I have to drink 3 Protein shakes a day in between meals. But the day before surgery is liquids only. Not too bad! But I love me some carbs and most people do so the first few days will still be hard since my body will go into ketosis from the lack of carbs..but I GOT THIS!! :)

Wow yes the diets are definitely different. I have never had good self control so the next two weeks are going to be interesting. I'm glad I have this site for motivation and support!

I'm April 8 and I'm in Australia. I've been such a pig with some kind of 'last meal' mentality towards chocolate and ice cream that I'm sort of looking forward to the milkshakes and Soup only! Lol! Bit nervous about op too but I'm ready for a new life! Good luck everyone :)

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
