Anyone having the sleeve in april?!

Hi my name is Jackie from Miami fl! My surgery is scheduled April 2 and I am super nervous! I hope I get the approval from the insurance... My fiancé doesn't talk about my surgery at all unless I mention something about it. In definitely looking for others to talk to about my journey.

I wish I would have just gone through with it then. I cant imagine how the last four years woudl have been. Now is the right time though. We are going to do great!!! :) [/quote

Which Kaiser are you having surgery at? I'm having mine at Kaiser on April 16th too!

Hi live in Texas and my surgery date is April 9th, I don't seem to be feeling much at this point. I had to do a lot of test to get ready. Reading all the post from everyone make feel confident in knowing everything is going to be alright. Good luck to all the April sleeved......I am excited through..yea...

Mytime, I live in Texas too! Small town of Winnsboro in northeast Texas. My surgeon is in the Dallas area. Where are you?

i am being sleeved in April also in Dallas at Forest Park

Msfitn2014, who's your surgeon? Mine is Dr Holden from Kim Bariatrics. My surgery will be at Baylor Trophy Club. I go for my EGD in 3 weeks, srt my liquid also that day, then surgery in 5 weeks from today!! It is getting real!

Hi all. Thanks so much for all the kinds words and advice. I've been a wreck for the last three days. So after a lot of crying and soul bearing, he's given me his blessing to go ahead with April 21st. He still doesn't agree with me doing it and thinks I am putting myself before my children but I know once he sees results and sees how committed I am he'll understand.

His whole point was I've lost 40 pounds in 3 months without surgery why can't I just keep going? I don't have an answer for him. Knowing that I'm working towards the sleeve gives me the strength to continue. I don't know if that makes any sense but in my head it does. And he's been dieting with me this past month. He's lost 20 pounds so he's supportive that way but about the surgery he doesn't think it's worth the risk. So our compromise is: I continue for the next 30 days trucking along and really give it my all. And if I'm not satisfies with the results I get to have surgery. If I've lost more weight and feel as if I can continue on this path and happy with the results then I'll postpone. What's marriage without compromise??? So for now...I'm an April sleevers!

I go in on April 2. Really trying not to freak out. I just keep reminding myself what my life was like before I gained weight and what my life is like now. I want my old life back, cuz this, this isn't living.

Its amazing how quickly april is coming hard to belueve in less than a month such a life changing event will happen ... I cant seem to pm anyone for some reason ... Any suggestions ...

Massachusetts here... The big day is April 1st... not sure how I am going to handle being so active today and not being able to go to the gym or play softball for 6 weeks... I have a feeling I am going to be soooo bored. But I look forward to what life will be like after surgery and will be anxiously waiting to get back to being active... making all these changes has been a great feeling I hope not to lose momentum with a break from the gym!

Hubbard3rd most people from my understanding aren't "down" for 6 wks providing no complications! My doc told me 2 wks and I can start working out and return to work! I am opting to take 4 wks off to adjust to eating and chance of limited energy because my job is so active!

I have heard from many people first week is toughest and then they are ready to go. I took 3 weeks off so I can give myself time to adjust to my new life style.. I love the tickers.. How so i get one?

Hi, Buffalo NY April 8.

Hi joyann, im from nh .. Are u doing your preop diet yet? 3 weeks for me .. I am starting tomorrow figured i d get a head start?

hey happy girl my Dr had me on the South Beach Diet for the last 3 months, so when I met with him a few weeks ago I asked him about this liquid protein pre op diet that I've been reading about, he told me to just go back to phase one of the South Beach Diet which is basically just eating meat and certain vegetables but I do have my pre-op training visit on March 27th so I'm sure when I go there they will probably put me on the liquid diet then however I am like you I am choosing to start today doing liquid and protein shakes just to get used to it.
