I've not seen a thread that discusses that. I have heard that there is a video on youtube that shows an actual surgery.

I had another fill today. I sat there with several people and wondered if I was sitting there with any of the people that I have spoken to here. Were any of you at GBI today?

correct my spelling

I have been searching for a thread that talks about the details of the surgery. I am curious how the band is attached, what is done during surgery and other details about how the band is installed.

I haven't seen a thread like that either. But you can go to the gastric band institute's website and it will give you some information. There are also a lot of videos on youtube. If you do a search for lap band, there are tons that come up.

No, I wasn't there. I have an appointment in 3 weeks I think for a fill. I am a little scared to get another one because I always end up too tight. But I have to do something. I haven't lost anything in about 4 weeks and I actually gained 3 pounds this week :)

I gained too. I had gotten down several pounds right after my last fill, but that didn't last long at all. I had my follow up appointment last week. when she saw my small weight loss (and I explained that I had gained some back), she scheduled me for another fill. Brooke told me that because she did put quite a bit in, for me to stay on liquids a little longer than normal just to avoid any problems. I wish you the best of luck on your fill.

How many calories on average are y'all taking in on a daily basis?

I take in anything between about 1200-1400 calories per day. I track my calories right now using myfitnesspal.com and also "lose it" for the iPhone. It just helps me get an idea of what I am eating. I used to weigh my food, but I can sort of eyeball it now.

I don't really count calories, but I get about the same as slim, about 1200 a day. But the last week or so I have been eating a lot more, so that's why I have gained. I have never been the type of person who loses really fast. I still have to really watch it or I won't lose at all and I gain really easy.

I am down 40 lbs as of today(on the scale at work with my work clothes on). I lost 6 lbs this week so I feel like I am doing good. I started playing tennis again this week - even though that is earlier than the guidelines. I also started eating normal foods earlier than the book says. I took both things very slowly and I have not had any issues - no PBing, throwing up etc., I was leary about doing these things early but I feel great so hopefully nothing bad will come of it.

I tell ya, I am really suprised by my ability to eat less and stay satisfied even though I have no fill. I wonder if I will start to get hungrier over time?

Did you talk to him about eating regular foods early? I don't want to alarm you, but you really might want to call and talk to Tiffany about what you have been eating.

You shouldn't start eating normal foods too soon because it can cause your band to slip. It needs time to heal and attach good to your stomach. That is part of the reason for the liquid and soft food diets....
