I have been thinking about else for years. In January of this year I made a final decision to take charge of my life. I was very lucky, I had all of my prerequisites done in 2 weeks and I was approved by the insurance in 1 week. My surgery date is 3/5/14. I can't believe how the time flew by, it doesn't seem real that my surgery is tomorrow. I have been reading a lot of the posts on here and it has helped me a lot. I was anxious for my surgery date to get here, but now that it's here I am really nervous.

I understand your nervousness. I'm nervous too. My surgery is on Thursday 3-6-14. Hang in there. It won't be so bad. They'll put you to sleep and when you wake up it will all be over with. Good luck.

My surgery is tomorrow too. I am so nervous. For the last two days, sleep has been minimal. Looking forward to waking up Wednesday afternoon, after surgery, and starting this journey. We got this!

Hi Kim

I take it you are a nurse. I am too. I am at work waiting for the doctor's office to call back with my surgery date. I understand your nervousness, I am as well but this is such a wonderful tool and I am sure that we will both be just fine. Good luck with your surgery. Post when you can

Deb

Just got the call, surgery at 9, have to be at the hospital at 6. I'm glad I don't have to wait all day. Sending well wishes to everyone having surgery tomorrow.

Hi Kim, my name is Kim and my surgery is tomorrow as well! We got this! I am keeping myself distracted today the best that I can. I am waiting for a call for my check-in time. Trying to keep my anxiety down, so far it's barely working. But hey, it's normal. Best of luck!

Had surgery Wednesday, just got home 1/2 hour ago. I slept the entire day and night after surgery. Yesterday I felt like hell, I was actually starting to think I made a big mistake. Woke up this morning, pain was minimal, nausea was gone and after 6-7 laps around the floor I feel like a new person. I hope all is going well for all of the other fresh post-ops.

Kim

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
