Boredom causes munchies!!

Neicy

Recommended Posts

We are sitting at home today waiting for Ivan to blow through. We prepared for the worst, since the forcasters couldn't pinpoint landfall. Now it appears that Mobile is the projected path. I feel sorry for them. It is so boring around here, the windows are boarded up and not much to do. This is so out of routine! I keep munching on nuts, and snacking on the food that my husband bought in case the power was lost. So much crap! Oreos, mixed nuts, chips. I absolutely can not have this stuff around me! The band does not come equipped with will power! Amazing how all that junk slips right down, no PB on that stuff!

It isn't even raining here yet, they forecast some hurricane force winds for us here, we're on the LA/MS coast. I am not worried about Water, our property is about 25 feet above sea level, but I am a little worried about the winds. We have about 300 trees on our 3+ acres, mostly pines and they are fairly brittle trees.

So, please say a little prayer for all those to be impacted by this powerful storm. It is so quiet around here right now, the proverbial quiet before the storm.

My children and many of our friends have evacuated, but we chose to "ride it out". I think that sitting in all of that stalled traffic would have stressed me worse than sitting through the hurricane.

:)

Hi Neicy,

I'll be thinking of you and saying prayers. I have been watching Ivan like crazy the last few days. In Oregon we are always expecting the big earthquake but otherwise our weather is kind of boring. I am always fascinated by the idea of going thru a tornado or hurricane. I'm kind of jealous of you! I know, my family calls me nuts too. LOL... I love weather and am a science student. I don't know if that expains it or not. Anyway best of luck to you. 300 trees on 3 acres is a LOT of trees! Best wishes, Teresa

Hope no one gets hit hard by Ivan! O.K.,Neicy, drag out that manual can opener and fix some tuna salad. And drink that Water load (without food of course!) It will "stick to your ribs" longer than those high-carb junk foods. Good luck!:)

Neicy, my tyhoughts and hopes for safety go out to you too. I'm watching the news and this looks really horrific! I heard on the radio that Slidell is where a lot of the evacuees went. Is your town really crowded right about now?

Stay calm, and don't fret if you eat a few chips. But do make that tuna salad! :)

Neicy,

I'll be keeping you and your family in my thoughts and prayers. I can't imagine how very terrifying these things can be. The damage already done is just so devestating, it breaks my heart. Please, please stay safe and as far as I'm concerned - you have every right to eat nuts and oreos. You can worry about your weight next week when it's all over.

Hugs to you. Please stay safe.

Leatha

Thanks to all for your prayers, thoughts and well wishes. We were so very lucky. I've had more damage in an ordinary thunderstorm. Hardly even rained around here. I was so sorry to see the devastation in the areas that were hit, though. Those poor people.

85% of our community evacuated, the streets looked like a ghost town this morning when I went out, but thank God we were spared. Thanks again to you all for the loving thoughts. I feel like I have good friends all over the country.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
