6 days per week.. lift weights eveyday, abs everyday and cardio 35 minutes a day. i spend about 1 hour and 10 minutes ish per day in the gym.. Takes 3 weeks to form or break a habit. So its easy!

I could not exercise the first 6 weeks due to surgical complications. The last 4 weeks I have been doing cardio in my home. I have a recumbent bike and an elliptical. I started slow but have worked up to 30 minutes a day, 6 days a week. I have just advanced my diet to stage 5 and will begin with weights after a short vacation.

Macman:

Glad to hear of your excellent progress. I had the gastric sleeve in December 2013 and have lost 45 pounds thus far. I have

begun exercising 3 days a week ( treadmill, recumbent be, upper body weights). Any suggestions? Charles2911

Charles

Sounds like you are making great progress. Most of what I have read suggests cardio exercises 3-4 times a week at increasing intensity. That is pretty much what I have done to this point. I am trying to work more with the elliptical vs the recumbent bike because I get a better workout.

I am going to begin working out at a gym with some weights. My son and daughter in law gave me a 3 month membership that will get me started. I think I will start low intensity to build back some of the muscle definition I've lost. One of the suggestions that I have heard repeatedly is that as you increase workouts, increase the calories at the same time. Your body needs Protein to rebuild muscle and carbs for energy. I have been doing less than 50 carbs per day but will increase when I begin strength training. I have steadily increased calories as my diet has progressed and I have been more active. Currently I am at 800-1000 calories a day and have lost 51 pounds in the last 9 weeks since surgery, 42 before for 93 total.

Good Luck!

Gosh I'm getting jealous! I hope I have similar results. How long do you typically wait before going to the gym, I know it really depends on the person but an estimate would be good :-) I got sleeved on Monday so the only thing I'm ready for is a walk and then bed lol!

I know but it true!!! What I'm thinking is my clothes were right before and now they are extra loose so maybe I was really in a larger size before but for me to loose 70 pounds and there's a huge difference physically my clothes have not changed much they are just more comfortable

Your doctor actually clears you when you are ready it depend on your incisions! How your tolerating foods etc!!!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
