April 2014 pre-op group

Recommended Posts

Im am day 3 into my liquids. Im doing 3 shakes per day, eating sf Jello and plain greek yogurts mostly. Also drinking lots of waterand gatorade. Its torture! Yesterday at my job was the chili cookoff that was just nerve wrecking. I made through though. Today ismy preop appt with the surgeon and dietician. Sirgery on the 28th and it can get here quick enough! Im in the worse mood ever my husband and children have advised me they just have to stay out of my way until surgery day because im biting their heads off. Is anyone else dealing with this and how are you easing the cranky feeling?

I haven't noticed any crankiness. I have been having headaches though. A Chilli cook off would have been torture though

My surgery sister! We're twins (28th) lol

I've been experiencing all of the same. I'm actually at my preop appts now. The dr did say sugar free gum was okay for me to kill that urge to chew. My patience has been much thinner with my husband vs my sons. Poor Mr. Jones. I don't eat yogurt so I didn't ask if it was allowed, but maybe I should. The broth and Protein are boring but I'm tolerant. I had the sf jello yesterday. Didn't care for it. The upside to this, like you said, I'm down -8 as of this morning. That part made me feel good and I can feel the difference. I'm holding on to that piece of happiness to carry me into surgery on the 28th. My little bit of motivation.

I am experiencing all of what you all are saying. I feel so bad to be so upset when my 1yr old cries. Hubby stays clear. Lol. But he is a sweetie. He is doing liquids with me so I wouldn't be alone. Today's is my 1yr birthday. I'm taking cupcakes to his daycare. That will be torture. I'm going armed with Water and a shake. I'm just thinking 4 more days!!!

We are surgery twins! Lol, I was wondering hadnt seen anyone post that they were having it on the 28th. By the time I left the doctor and hospital I came home and tried to do homework. Not happening. Im just trying to stay occupied and do have the sugar free gum on hand so I can kill the chew craving. Weve got thos so just hang in there it will be done before we know!

well I'm now 24 hours post op . My surgery ran late because ths OR was running behind. Didnt get into recovery until about 7pm. Woke up in a lot of pain, but my doc gives his patients morphine PCA pumps. Got to a room about 11:00 p m. I have 2 drains and 3 ports. Tummy is numb. Pain is better. I am walking with less pain. I am currently laying on my hospital bed comfortably watching Forest Gump. Lol. The first 18 hours are rough but it does get better.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
