I'm scheduled for 3/18. I'm 18 pounds down and have 12 to go. My surgeon was pretty adamant that I drop 30 before. We are only benefitting ourselves for time of surgery. I don't want to find out that I can't have it on 3/18 so I'm just continually working towards it. Good luck

Just finished my pre-op. I am going into surgery today. I am down 13 lbs. Good luck.

I will be freaking pissed if I don't lose weight on this pre-op diet. Seriously.

My surgeon said if I don't lose the required preOp weight he will postpone the surgery until I do. I sure don't want that. At first I was just following Weight Watchers but then I hit a stall. My surgery date is 3/17 and at the last appointment I still had 10 pounds to go before my preOp appointment on 3/7 so they are making me see the dietitian every week. She put me on a high Protein 1300 calorie diet with one Meal Replacement shake. She is also having me limit the number of carbs I intake. It is helping a lot. In the first 4 days I dropped 7 pounds and it got the scale moving. Those darn carbs were the culprit. I weigh in tomorrow and expect to have lost most of the last 10. (I hope I hope I hope). Good Luck Sweetcheeks! You can do it!!!

Yes he said it was to shrink the liver to make access to the stomach easier.

I lost 10 lbs, I was not expecting to lose any, I bet once you have the surgery it will just start falling off, it's do amazing! Just don't be like this guy at my support group at 5 weeks post op was bragging how he could eat what ever he wanted, I'm sitting there thinking, why would you even try that junk?

I did and lost 35 lbs on 6 months! Surgery is Tuesday the 25th. Yippee.
