Frustrated! Ugh...

Recommended Posts

I had my fill and have been on liquids such as broth and Tomato Soups for weeks. No solids were going down with ease. I have not lost but 2 pounds. I figured if I was limited to food I would be losing something. I have continued to work out despite my lack of energy. It is very discouraging to not have the caloric intake and still not losing much. Last night was my first night eating a solid food. Ugh..... so discouraged....

Just a question...do you think you are too tight that you are struggling to get solids down. I have not had a fill yet so I have nothing to compare your experience with. Also, if your body thinks its not getting enough caloric intake it will hold on to whatever you put in it so it doesnt feel that it is starving... and dont forget--all those Soups and broths are loaded with sodium that may be causing you to retain Water which will affect weight loss.

Dont be discouraged...it will come off....maybe a call into your doc or nutritionist may help you.

Best of luck...keep us posted!

You have not been able to get solids down, FOR WEEKS????

That is not normal....

My last fill, which was the worst, was very problematic for about 2 weeks, but at least I was able to eat SOMETHING...just very carefully....then it did get better...

It was not because the band was too tight, it was because I had some hard lessons to learn....

But if you have not been able to eat for weeks....

Its been 5 years for me I have gained 15 pounds working on it not to bad for 5 years I just have to work on it. Now as for you I can suggest a few things one is make sure you go by the book and nothing else that is not in the book for you at this time also do not drink 45 minutes before or 45 minutes after you eat that is a big thing. Stay away from sugar the first year I did not eat any sugar no pastas no breads no sweats I was very faithful and the weight came off it was very hard especially no soda I was so afraid of getting sick I went each step in the book let me no if any of these work for you GOOD LUCK

Many of the old veterans would ask you if you journal or track calories? Fitnesspal? Just a journal? How many calories are you consuming?

2 lbs could be about right depending on your caloric intake? But not being able to eat solids is a big red flag. Talk to your doc and/or nutritionist?

When you have a lapband weight is not going to just come off, versus having the gastric. Don't be discouraged, just talk to dr. or nurse, and nutritionist. The lapband doesn't work by itself, it needs us to guide it and keep it working, good kuck!

So, last night were you able to tolerate the solids? Also, what were the solids?

I was able to mush up some meatloaf and it was okay as long as I chewed it. I didnt quite get a half cup of meat in.

Could be your ok as long as you can get solids in. as for chewing well and eating slowly, that's what we are supposed to be doing. Get your Proteins in...very important.

Yes I chew sometimes until my jaw hurts. Haha!! I found something at Walmart called New Whey Protein. 42g of protein and I mix it with my Water. Different flavors to choose from. Its the only way I have been getting all my protein in.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
