I am in Georgia......if I can do anything to help just let me know. Trust me in that you have found someone who knows exactly how you feel. Keep me posted on how it's going.........good luck!

Hi Lisa F... I've just learned the term esophageal spasms - because I got a fill on Tuesday and I think I'm a bit over filled (I was looking forward to the doc being aggressive and I think I'm learning a hard lesson) I have this horrible pain in the back of my throat that hasn't let up in about 48 hours and it's been progressively worse although I have been able to drink a Protein drink so I don't think I'm in trouble with dehydration just yet... I'm going to my doc's on Monday but it sure is comforting to see something that describes these awful symptoms that I'm experiencing. I almost now feel like my throat is bruised. :(

Glad you are ok. Yes, I was told at list 30 minutes before bed - it's probably a health habit to get into anyway

Yes, I was told about this at my nutrition class before surgery. It was stressed for me because I have severe gastric reflux. I also take protonics every day.

anyone having any kind of spasms should consider 600 mg of magnesium a day, with extra B6. it is safe to take with medicines and will not interact with anything and may totally clear up your spasms. i recommend a good chelated brand like county life in divided doses.

I do take 500 MG of magnesium and a B complex. I have to say it does help alot! Just doesn't get rid of it for me. I have very bad bile reflux. I keep saying no RNY but I don't know what the future holds for me. It keeps getting worse everyday. :(

I had my surgery on Dec 12th 2013 , and about 6 weeks post Op I started having horrendous acid reflux and pain. This started mainly at night ( however , not due to eating too late as we have dinner at 5pm ) . It then became a problem during the day too , with just about anything I ate and drank! So, visited my Doctor and he prescribed Omeprazole , which I take twice a day. They,re brilliant and totally eradicated the problem. Acid problems can be a side-effect of having Gastric Sleeve surgery. Take care.. x

My husband is a pharmacist. He said they use the GI Cocktail in the hospital ER often. It can be made from different ingredients, so if the first "cocktail" doesn't work they can always change it up until they find something that works.

I called my doctor and he won't prescribe it because of the lidocaine. Any other suggestions without it?

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
