Correct Me If Im Wrong

If I remember correctly, capsules are a NO NO, right?? I just threw up my tamiflu capsule. I caught it in a tissue paper but it kinda popped on one side. I don't know if I should still take it.

You're right , we are suppose to do liquid if we can or smash our meds or break them down so we can swallow them , maybe you can tell the doc or ask the pharmists if they can give you liquid form somehow , becaue you don't want it getting stuck and that you are a lapband patient.

This seems to be a your surgeon may vary scenario...

My surgeon really doesn't have any restrictions against capsules. It's more due to the size. Post op, I was given nexium in a pill form. I take a vit d and e pill daily. (My multi is a gummy). No restrictions here. My pharmacist knows about the band so nothing too big but that's all I know.

I've been taking them since Friday with no problems. I'm thinking maybe I didn't drink enough Water because it kinda upsets my stomach, unless I have a snack or a meal with it. So my plan was to drink it with as little water as possible so that the snack wouldn't be a problem.

i haven't had to do anything to my pills and i take a lot , one being a capsule. but since this last fill pills are not so easy. i called my pcp and asked for a smaller cholestrol reducing pill. the one i was taking was so big that even when i chewed it , it was getting stuck. no problem and he changed me to a pill that i only take once a day. i don't crush pills up i chew them before taking a swallow of Water. the taste isn't that bad. now that i am entering the green zone a whole lot of different things i was doing is now changing. the capsule i mentioned i just opened it up and put the powder in my mouth and used Water to swallow. the only pills, capsules we need to be careful about are time released medication. chewing them or crushing them puts to much in our system at one time

Everyone need to know THEIR band, and what THEY can and cannot do....

What I can do does not make it sp for the next banded person, and vice-verse....

I take fish oils and found a brand called "Half the Size" and they are just that. I am looking into a liquid form, however, as I worry that the Gelatin capsules are too sticky. Don't want to get stuck on fish oil, gack. Good luck to you -- follow your instincts!

Hot, this is one time you can allow yourself to drink with food. The drinking with food rule is to avoid pushing the food through too quickly, so you're able to stay satiated for longer periods of time. You're sick and need this med. Take it with as much water as you need to comfortably get it down. You will not do any damage by drinking with a snack.

Feel better.....

Thank you so much, guys. I feel oh, so good today, except for my back from sleeping on the couch and the extra bed. Flu symptoms are at bay, but I'm not sure if I'm still contagious, as this is my first time dealing with his.

I have never had an issue taking any kind of pills. The only ones my doctor said not to take were nsaids and I take them anyway because I have osteo arthritis and fibromyalgia well and besides I don't want to mess up my liver taking Tylenol. If I have to take a capsule I put it long ways on my tongue so it will go down that way. My doctor knows I take alleve and he has no issues with it.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
