Chocolate and Junk Food

Recommended Posts

I am ALWAYS and I mean always craving and thinking about chocolate and junk. And I eat ALOT that's why I gained 30 pounds while not even a year in.

Please tell me HOW I CAN CONTROL this?

I can't stop eating or crazing its on my mind 24/7 it's getting ridiculous. And I go crazy for it.

Is anyone else has this problem?

If so did you stop eventually?

And what did you do to stop this?

And I can't just eat alittle. I have to eat all of it. The whole bar chocolate or chips

Thank you all!!!!

And God Bless

I had to go through withdrawals (headaches) and "white knuckle" it for three or four days when I gave up sugar and flour two years ago..... Very rough in the beginning!

I don't have any advice other than:

Quit buying it..... Stop buying it..... Do NOT buy it!

HealthyNewMe is right -- after three or four days it will be out of your system. Keep your thoughts on the eventual goal of being at a healthy weight versus the very temporary pleasure of sugar. And watch out for artificial sweeteners. For some people they tell the brain food is on the way -- they trigger hunger. So make sure your food is clean and basic, no chemicals. Do this for a few days and you won't believe how great you feel. Some people do the Five Day Pouch Test to "reboot" their band and get on track again. You can Google on that. Remind yourself of all the reasons you want to be healthy and free for food jail. You can do this!

I think I got over my sugar cravings during my pre-op diet. I haven't had anything sweet since before 12/3. Once in a while I think about a candy bar, but not enough to bother going to the trouble to buy and eat one. I am happy with sugar free Dulce de Leche pudding, yum!

You know, I can relate to your situation somewhat. Over the holidays, my wife bought all kinds of junk to make Cookies with the kids. We ended up having 5 sacks of white chocolate, butterscotch and heathbar chips left over. I couldn't stay out of them. A handful every night and a sneak grab here and there.

They're all gone but one sack of white chocolate. Every time I enter the pantry I hear them calling me. I've been chip free for a week now and I suppose the best thing to do is to throw the last sack away but that would be blasphemous? I can do this?

My advice, don't buy it and don't have it around. I know if it's not here, I don't seek it out.

I checked her prior posts and she was sleeved a little over a year ago and lost about 80 lbs? Obviously she's lost but no matter what kind of WLS she had I suppose we all suffer from the same calamity?

I don't keep a thing in my house to tempt me to snack except SF popsicles. Thankful there is no one around except me and my husband, and we do not cook regular meals. Working out great.

So true.... There isn't one day that I feel "cured", and even with the band/plication, sometimes the intense need to EAT wins over any amount of restriction. Thanks for the info, tmf.

If you google "chocolate chip clouds" from skinnytaste.com

These are delicious, they are low fat and taste wonderful(: but it calls for 1/2 cup of sugar, so I would either substitute the sugar or add less sugar. But they are very good and help with my chocolate cravings(:

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
