I was a tight size 26 and 3X at my surgical consult, and I slipped into a pair of size 14 jeans today. L/XL on shirts. I've attached a pic of the size 26 pants I wore to my surgical consult. They were so tight, they have permanent crease marks and the button busted (they were held closed by a big safety pin). I've also attached a pic of me in the size 14s, the same ones laid over the size 26s. I'm only eight weeks post-op, and I can't recall eve being smaller than a size 12 in my entire teen/adult life, so I'm moving into uncharted territory. So crazy!!!

Your results are amazing! Are you doing everything to the letter? What does your exercise plan look like? What are u eating? Girl you are doing the damn thing and definitely renewed my desire to have the procedure.

I started my journey as a band patient - lost 90 pounds in about 16 months. I was a size 22 pants & 2-3X shirts. I hated it!

In December, I averaged a size 12 pants & Medium / Small tops

Converted to the sleeve on Jan 16th so I'm only 15 days post op

I'm down another 14 pounds

Size 10 pants

S / M tops

The irony is that I had breast reduction about 4 years ago. Best thing I ever did as I was OVER a DD bra size. I could sling those babies over my shoulders. Totally hated them. All this pre-surgery!

After surgery, I was a lovely C cup. However, now that I've lost a total of 104 pounds, I'm a size B. Yes, a size "B" cup, oh my!!! :o

This is part of why I'm getting the sleeve now. I want a breast reduction and the dr told me to do the wls first and see where I land. I hate having boobs.

i was bigger than a uk 38 (us 36) if it was fixed waistband and just fit if it was elasticated.

now i can fit into elasticated waistbands from a size 10uk like leggings etc fixed coz of the skin 16/18uk

dresses i do a 16/18uk.

knitwear i like bigger but i have that in sizes 16-20uk depending on what it is and what type if i will be wearing something under it or not etc soooo that 11 dress sizes if you just take the 38 down to a 16.

My update: As of today, my size 14's stopped laughing at me when I tried to get into them! I wore size 14 Levi's all day and felt quite accomplished! Can't wait to fit into my 12's again. Its been a good 12 years since I have done that! The sleeve gives me hope and is keeping the wind in my sails! :)

I've enjoyed reading this tread! Congrats to everyone for such great work and results!

In January of 2013 at 325 lbs I was squeezing into a size 24W and now 95lbs lighter I wear a 16W pants and an L or XL on top. I only want to lose another 10 lbs (I'm very tall 6' 1& 3/4") so I don't think I'll get much smaller. The Bra size was 44 GG (as in GOOD GOOD your boobs are so big!). LOL! Now I'm wearing 38 G but I may need to go down a cup size. The girls have deflated quite a bit!

This is a great thread! I'm preop and have lost 25-27 (keep bouncing back and forth) but I can tell a difference already. My husband was walking behind me in Target and yelled out to me that my butt was smaller. Thanks, honey! But it is, and it feels so good! Can't wait to get to the other side of surgery. I can't fathom shopping in the "normal" sizes!

This time last year I was wearing a 62 x 30 pants and a 5x shirt. As I type this, I'm wearing a 40 x 30 pants and 2x shirt.

Pre-sleeve I was wearing a size 26 and 44DD bra. I hit 100 lbs lost this week. I wear a size 12 for most things, have a few size 10 dresses and the bra size is down to a 34C. My goal is to wear a size 8 (my daughter took me out to buy the "Goal wardrobe" after the surgery)

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.

Oh yeah, something I wanted to rant about, a billing dispute that cropped up 3 months ago.
Surgery was in August of 2023. A bill shows up for over $7,000 in January. WTF? I asks myself. I know that I jumped through all of the insurance hoops and verified this and triple checked that, as did the surgeon's office. All was set, and I paid all of the known costs before surgery.
A looong story short, is that an assistant surgeon that was in the process of accepting money from my insurance company touched me while I was under anesthesia. That is what the bill was for. But hey, guess what? Some federal legislation was enacted last year to help patients out when they cannot consent to being touched by someone out of their insurance network. These types of bills fall under something called, "surprise billing," and you don't have to put up with it.
      https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
I had to make a lot of phone calls to both the surgeon's office and the insurance company and explain my rights and what the maximum out of pocket costs were that I could be liable for. Also had to remind them that it isn't my place to be taking care of all of this and that I was going to escalate things if they could not play nice with one another.
Quick ending is that I don't have to pay that $7,000+. Advocate, advocate, advocate for yourself no matter how long it takes and learn more about this law if you are ever hit with a surprise bill.

Some days I feel like an infiltrator... I'm participating in society as a "thin" person. They have no idea that I haven't always been one of them! 🤣

Thank you everyone for your well wishes! I totally forgot I wrote an update here... I'm one week post op today. I gained 15 lbs in water weight overnight because they had to give me tons of fluids to bring my BP up after surgery! I stayed one night in the hospital. Everything has been fine except I seem to have picked up a bug while I was there and I've been running a low grade fever, coughing, and a sore throat. So I've been hydrating well and sleeping a ton. So far the Covid tests are negative.
I haven't been able to advance my diet past purees. Everything I eat other than tofu makes me choke and feels like trying to swallow rocks. They warned me it would get worse before it gets better, so lets hope this is all normal. I have my follow up on Monday so we'll see. Living on shakes and soup again is not fun. I had enough of them the first time!! LOL
