Not loving this Sleeve this week......soft rant....sorry Felipe

Recommended Posts

Nothing but problems this week.

1. "Shark week" - lots of pain and could only take children's ibuprofen. (Approved by my surgeon) but its disgusting!

1a. I asked the pharmacist if i could open the gel-caps and mix with food.....did that and nearly choked to death.....went down the pipe tho :-)

2. Tried to eat eggs for the first time and it was a complete and total disaster! 1/4 tbsp was all that was needed. Took Felipe 6 hours to digest..

3. Still can't swallow any pills and there is no way in h/ll that I am going to attempt to consume any Vitamins.

4. I have tried every possible Protein shake concoction and little miss sleeve is not having any of it...2 oz.....thats it and its a wrap for Felipe.

5. Constipation....my nurse says I should not live on laxatives but if I don't Felipe shuts down and i cant eat, drink or medicate.....ugggg...

6. I tried working out, which was great...but with 200 or less calories a day, it was just unsustainable...

7. Now I'm back at work full time. My brain needs Protein to write these complex contracts...but i cant get it in....:-(

Ok, i'm done with my Felipe bashing.....i just want to feel better without so many obstacles...

Shelby

I really want this to work....my issues or not around struggling to stay on plan or head hunger....my struggle is that my sleeve is my sole source of nutrition and I have to rely on a 3 1/2 week old for everything....and she's doing the best she can, with the tools she has, for right now.

I had a really hard time with Protein Drinks. Finally, we found CorePower. It has 20 grams of Protein (26 if you can't find the light version). The strawberry banana is so smooth. I had tried everything... Trust me these are good. No chalk taste, bitter or after taste. No bad smell. Wish I had them them my first two weeks!

Unjury Protein is the VERY best. Get the unflavored and mix it with everything. Soup, potatoes, oatmeal, cream of wheat. My favorite is to mixed a scoop of Unjury with crystal light and Water. Often I also sprinkle in the powder non thickening Fiber. All of that together taste just like crystal light only. You get 20 oz of water, 20 g of protein and fiber to help you potty. You have to go to their website to order it. Best thing I ever did in sleevedom.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
