Cardiac stress test?

Recommended Posts

Hi! Ok...this one is kind of long. Please bare (sp) with me. So, I had my stress test for surgery clearance on Friday & I am terrified that the doc won't clear me for surgery. I did the treadmill test. So, I get my heart rate up to 160, the nurse has me quickly jump off of it & roll onto my left side onto the bed. She says my heart looks fine & leaves the room. Meanwhile, there's another nurse on my right side monitoring my Heart rate & BPM (beats per minute). She says for me to breathe in through my nose & exhale through my mouth slowly. Well, inhaling was easy but exhaling caused me to cough because my throat & mouth were extremely dry. I started dry heaving. I had to beg for Water. Then, I began throwing up the water. Nurse tells me keep breathing, I have less than 2 minutes to get my BPM under 100 & I was at 109. But, I continued puking my "heart" out. She stops & checks my BP which was normal for me, I have HBP. They tell me I can go & should have my results in about a week. Well, today, Monday-I missed their call. Tried to return it but it was after hours. Although, I gave them permission to leave a message regarding my health they only said to give them a call. I am over here panicking! This was the only pre-op testing that concerned me. I pray nothing is wrong. Anyone else go through this? If so, were you ultimately cleared for surgery?

Hi a couple of years ago I had pains in my chest and they found I had an inverted t wave on my ecg reading upon further tests and I mean crap loads at the major hospital I london they said the right side of my heart was enlarged but they could not find anything that caused it, my last visit to them in june last year they said that all was good and ecg was clear no reason for any of the trouble, but it looks like it had sorted itself out as I have had no treatment just been monitered, yet when I went for op on arm my ecg reading showed t wave again but I feel fine. My advise woukd be dont panic case that will stress you out, it could be nothing but even if there is something itncan be fixed, keep smiling you will get there.

I received my clearance yesterday! So, yes! All of that worrying was for nothing. lol Now all I have to complete are my 2 Nutrition classes, Psych evaluation, and last weigh-in. This will be done by the end of the month. I'm so excited!

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
