Hi. How much have you lost since surgery day???

I had surgery last week.

1. Can you take normal drinks of Water or is it still sip sip sip?

2. Is it safe to trust a fart?

3. Are there any foods that you ate before surgery that you cannot tolerate now...like eggs?

Thanks!

Hi. How much have you lost since surgery day???

I had surgery last week.

I was sleeved on July 8th. I have lost 92 pounds since surgery day.

Did you go through multiple stalls? I am almost 3 months out and I'm finding that the scale is not moving about half the time. Wondering if that is typical?

I can drink normally. Some of us are different in the amount of time it will take. I would say normal drinking happened somewhere around 3 months, I can't chug but I can drink very satisfying amounts comfortably.

How far out are you. I have no trouble with gas, and trusting that, that is all it is.

I have been very lucky with what I can tolerate. I would say to try to eat healthy foods that give you trouble a couple times before giving up on them completely. I am able to tolerate steak and eggs matter fact that's what I have for Breakfast most mornings. chicken and fish give me no problems things like nuts no problem. Sweets and fatty foods make me feel less comfortable, and so I avoid them but if I want a little bite of brownie or a bite of pizza I'm able to tolerate it. listen to your body, if you're craving glucose go for fruits, Proteins eat meat, my body tells me what I'm in the mood for, what I need. I have my 6 month check up coming up but at my 3 month my labs were perfect.

Yes. I went through multiple stalls your body is trying to maintain itself, so stalling is normal. the first 3 months there were days where I would gain a pound, lose a pound, gained 2 pounds lose 2 pounds but overall the weight loss has been steady.

Thank you. I am still pre op but those were some of my worries.

Did you have any hair loss? My surgery is Feb 13. Thank you for doing this!

I have. I was so excited at my 3 month appointment because my labs were perfect and I hadn't had any hair loss and my nails were growing like always... then month 4 hit and I started losing hair. I am very lucky that I had super thick hair to start with, because if I didn't I know out would have bothered me more. I have refocused on my Protein intake but I think it's just happens to some of us.

I have my final DR appointment on 2/20 and should have the surgery shortly after that. food has been my friend for so long...and I know my relationship with food will be very different after the surgery. Was it very hard for you to adjust how you ate and what you ate? I wonder what I will do when I am sad or frustrated and cant turn to chocolate....I cant imagine not always having candy in the house. Are your food cravings less than they were before surgery? Any insight you can offer would be very much appreciated. It is a very big scary step to take. Thank you.
