Hi. That is awesome! So nice to talk with someone that is on the same time line as me. I am down 10 lbs since surgery. I have been feeling pretty good. Better then I expected. Excited for what is to come! How are you progressing with diet & food?

Hi Dani.o.dani,

yay, so great to talk with some one my same town. I have a feeling we are not to far apart. I live in Littleton near Columbine High School. I am also married with 2 little ones. 4 year old daughter and a 19month old son.

I think the pre-op diet may be hardest part of all. Hang in there!

For me mixing up hot to cold was helpful. Lots of hot yummy tea and fruity crystal light. Warm Soup broth in the mornings helped my hunger when I woke up. I also got some of the clear zero carb sugar free Isopure drinks (40g protein). I could only have 1 per day. Some flavors were icky but the Protein really helped me feel less hungry and more energetic. Also sugar free Jello, made me feel like I was eating food. Ice was nice to crunch on.

Stay busy. For me that was huge. If I had to much down time I thought about eating so much more. Hard to go go go when feeling more tired but with 2 kiddos they kept me going no matter what lol.

As for post-op it has been great. I have done so very well. Better than I could of ever imagined. I feel so blessed. You are younger then me (I am 35) so I think that is to your benefit as well.

Hang in there!

Would love to keep in touch with you ;o)

Support & not feeling alone in this journey has been another big help for me.

Have a great day & talk to you soon

Hey ladies! I'm not currently in Denver, but will be in June. I moved from Arvada last winter to Wisconsin, and after -50 degrees here, well, I've had enough!! After my son finishes kindergarten we'll finally be back!

My surgery is scheduled for March 11th. I'd love to find some women who have going through this in common with me!

Hi there,

Congrats on your upcoming surgery.

Will be great to have a local support! I have nothing but positive things to report personally. Doing really well & am about 6 weeks out. 2 months on Feb. 26th. I am in southwest Littleton. My oldest will be going into kindergarten in the fall & my youngest is 20 months.

Look forward to talking to you ;o)

I'm glad you're doing well! How was your recovery? I had the lap band in 2009 and that recovery was easy. I must say I'm really nervous at times. What kept you motivated to go through with this? Where did you have your surgery? I had my band at North Suburban. My revision will be in Eau Claire, and I'm a little nervous because my surgeon has only done 10 revisions. Lots of sleeves, but not many revisions.

I can't wait to be back in Colorado! It sucks here!! My one and only munchkin is 5. We're hoping to move back to Arvada, but that all depends on where my job will be.

I'm so glad I found this thread! Hope to talk to you soon!

Katherine

Hi,

I had my surgery at St. Josephs in Denver. There were times that I did get scared pre-op but I was so tired of weight robbing me of joy. I just kept thinking I did not want any more years to go by & wished I would of received this great tool when I had the chance. I am the type of person that if I don't feel comfortable I don't do it. It made me sick to think I would miss out on great experiences with my kids & family because I was self conscious. I did not want to end up with health problems as I got older. I have fought weight from the age of 8-9 so I was just literally done! That is what kept me focused.

My recovery was so smooth. No nausea, minimal soreness and was able to progress back into healthy eating very easily. So glad I did it and so glad the surgery is behind me lol.

I think you will do well with already having experienced the band & been through that recovery.

It is nerve wracking no matter what, our babies make it a bit more heavy on the heart but in the long run we will be healthier happier Mommas because of it!

On a side note, if it helps it has been freezing here for the last week or so. Just think when you get back you will be feeling good ready to enjoy beautiful Colorado ;o)

Take care & I will talk to you soon

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
