I keep thinking about food. And how hard it is to let go of poor choices. It is probably the hardest thing I'll ever do. It had controlled so many aspects of my life. From birthday parties, to holidays, to girls night out. This sucks ballsack

SF, I totally understand. It was so hard to think my doc was okay with my eating yesterday and not immediately hitting the drive-thru. And I haven't stopped thinking about my spicy chicken sandwich since. I still am now. I have 51 minutes til my favorite place to get that closes. And I'm hungry right now. Granted I still need one more Protein Shake. So I will have that. But I want my sandwich and it sucks.

How are you feeling? I go Thursday and had my band removed a year ago. I'm anxious!

How are you feeling?

better day by day. Tired, every thing wears me out. I have a lot of bruising so I'm still sore in those areas. It's hard breaking the habit of eating when I'm bored. I sit around the house and remember a time three weeks ago when I would just make meal after meal. :/ how about you?

Was just telling SJ that I'm losing it. My internal dialogue is crazy arguing. I know I'm not hungry. Just empty. But I really miss the way full feels.

I'm hungry and tired and ready to be on the other side of the sleeve process. I didn't know enough about the sleeve to have it done when I had my band removed. I'm glad I waited but am so ready to be done. Glad to hear your recovery is going well. I can't wait to be right there with you!

I know. I'm glad you have people like SJ and this board to "talk" to. I am dying right now for the crap that got me here. But we can do this. We aren't going to die from not eating at this point. We can do this! Just keep typing and don't go near your kitchen. Unless you're packing some boxes. Then that's okay. :)

so you haven't had your sleeve done yet? Just trying to clarify haha. I will say though that the difference from the sleeve to band is incredible. When I had my band, I couldn't sleep because of the pain. With the sleeve, no pain in the stomach area. I'm a stomach sleeper, and I am so close to being able to sleep on my stomach completely! Also, it's so much nicer knowing that smaller portions will fill you up. With the band, you could eat a whole pizza if you wanted over hours because food dropped to your bigger stomach. With sleeve, we don't have that, so we really are forced to stop. Sorry for the mini story book haha. I'm excited for you!

I ain't gonna lie, pre-op dieting is screwing with my mind. It's showing me what a horrible relationship I have with food. This empty feeling makes me think I'm hungry and I know it's in my head but it's hard. Today has been my roughest day and I'm on day 8. I think maybe I've had too many carbs n it's triggering me. I ate an Oikos vanilla Greek yogurt and thought it was sugar free but it wasn't. It had sugar. Big wake up call for me.

What do you do now when you're bored instead of eat?

I love the mini story! No. Not sleeved yet. Thursday morning. I'm ready! I totally used to tell my friends "I can eat that, I just have to wait for it to go to my lower tummy" lol.

Yeah. I hit a day of "omg, I will eat my dog!" It sucked and I was a bitch all day. I even punched a wall and made my knuckles bleed. I am never violent and rarely that angry. It was awful. I am here for you friend. Just try not to punch me. :)

I didn't have to do a pre-op diet and I thank god for that. But it will get better, I promise you that. After surgery your tastes will change too. I can't even eat sugar now, I get sick. Literally. I've tried eating icecream, and I get so nauseous it's not even funny. How many more days do you have? And I smoke. I've been a smoker since I was 14, so that helps. But I also have a giant bag of lifesavers and hard candies, the wherthers I think they're called?

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
