I guess it's pretty standard for the sleeve to just stay one night in the hosp. Ins co's don't want to pay anymore than they have to. Someday we'll have drive through surgery.

Are you getting excited? I am.

I am really excited! I think it's the only reason I'm not the worst most ornery bitch right now. Hahaha.

I'm so excited to be healthy and rid of this fat.

You don't have a date yet?!?!? I thought by now you had surgery?! I just started reading this thread but didn't finish! I will go back to page 2 so I can finish reading everything! Good luck to you! Kb88

Thanks so much! Same to you. And nope, not yet. It's been quite the long process. But I am getting there! The next step is meeting with the surgeon, which will be sometime this month. Hoping for an early March surgery date!

Hi there! I'm from Inland Empire also! From East Highland area! My surgery is for March 7th.

Nice! Where are you having surgery? So you must be right around St. Bernardine's. That's where mine's going to be.

I am really excited! I think it's the only reason I'm not the worst most ornery b***h right now. Hahaha.

I am excited as well. SOOO very excited! Anyone have any dreams about the surgery at all? Oh man, I had the most REALISTIC dream last night. It felt so real. It was basically me laying on the operating table and them giving the anesthesia to knock me out, then before I knew it I "woke up" and the surgery was over and was a success. But the weird thing is that I "felt" the stomach pain in my dream. It was soo realistic. I've never had surgery before so I think it's just the unknown that kinda freaks me out! Not knowing how I will feel when I wake up... stuff like that.

Me too! I'm the 17th!! Can't wait!

What time is your surgery? Mine is 2pm the 17th. I wish it was all over.

We're all going to have to be support for each other to , cheer each on and also to be a shoulder/ear when we need it. We know it isn't going to be a cake walk but it can help when we have someone who is going through the same thing as we are at the same time (give or take a day or 2).

SJ, Glitter, SF and me (Sherry) will be walking that path to health and how great it will be to buy clothes in the normal size section for the 1st time. I hope other people can join in to help.

They haven't given me a time yet. I guess the hospital will call this Friday with the time. Eeeek! It's getting real now!!

I'm definitely on board for supporting each other. It'll be nice to have someone going through the same stuff. I am hoping I can post once I'm out of recovery.

I can't wait to never shop at Lane Bryant again!!

I also have the surgery on Feb 17th at 7am!! I am so excited and nervous. I joined this forum because I have no one here that I can share this experience with. Everyone I know is thin and doesn't understand what our struggle is like. I've been overweight all my life and look forward to a healthy future. Almost a week away.... Aaaahhhh! :D

Mine will call Friday, too, with the time. Usually it's the day before, but since Monday is a holiday it'll be Friday.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
