Loss of a good friend by her choice

Have you ever had a friend leave your life by their choice? I am a friend Charlotte who out of the blue doesn't want to speak to me again. We have been friends for 25 years. She keeps telling me that I haven't been there for her. I have no idea what is going on. I went back to email threads from months ago and there was no indication she was unhappy in the relationship. It is not my fault if I don't know what is going on in her head. I have tried everything. I have reached to her without avail. I am devastated to say the least. I just don't know what to do. I know my life has been hectic the last few years with 3 moves and some other personal stuff but she didn't seem to mind us talking about it when we would speak. I just have no idea where I went wrong. :cry

Thank you Jenifur! I wish you peace during your transistion. Carla was my last friend in this area. I have 2 lifetime friends one in Melborne the other in Indiana we are "The Girls"! I am a homebody and I am going to have to change that to make some new friends...that scares me. But it will all be alright! You take good care! Thanks for the support!

Hey that is why we are here - for support right!

After weeks of therapy I have come to realize that change is scary but it can be Good scary, doesn't always have to be bad.

GOOD LUCK - and enjoy meeting new people - they may not all be your friends but you never know what great things can come from talking to people!

We all go through this from time to time, sometimes we are the leaver and sometimes we are left behind. Peoples needs change . . . but you will always find those who are your "true" friends and stick by you no matter what. If a person leaves and is not willing to discuss reasons why, then it might be time to let go even if it is painful.

I've had friends who have come and gone and I have friends who have stayed through thick and thin. Sometimes I've had to walk out of other people's lives because of their addictions, etc. that would have pulled me down with them. One quote I've always tried to keep in mind is:

"Don't be dismayed at good-byes. A farewell is necessary before you can meet again. And meeting again, after moments or lifetimes, is certain for those who are friends."

~ Richard Bach

If you are true friends, she will be back. When she does, try to forgive.
