I've had this pressure feeling going up and down my esophagus the last several hours and minor pain in the center of me back. I don't have a clue how to fix this. I was banded last month and the doc has me back on solid foods and im struggling with enough and too much. My next appt is Jan 10. Please advise if you can thx.

If you feel you can't wait I would have it checked out. Better to be safe then sorry.

Can you drink Water??? Sip that is...
Not that I could tell, but it does not sound like you are stuck.....it sounds as though you had your first lesson about chewing and eating soft foods....you probably swallowed something too harsh, and are now feeling the residual pain, just as if someone has "Punched" you in arm, it can linger for quite a while...

I have, during those learning years, taken a large swallow without thinking...and have had the most excruciating pain....can even be thought as stretching the pouch perhaps...

There are many foods I no longer eat, and what I do eat are softer foods, and better chewed, and much smaller bites....

For instance, I takes 4 bites with plenty of chewing, to get through one shrimp....I usually take one bite, then put it down and come back to it later...it might as well be the size of a banana...

B-52, I often feel very awkward when eating in pubic. How do you manage to eat the Bandit way: slow, small, and far apart, without being/feeling/looking awkward?

Have you tried Papaya Extract? It's supposed to help with stuck episodes. I have some on hand, but have never had to use it. I would call your surgeon if it's not going away.

OMG! I feel so awkward too! My husband is the only one that knows, so he understands. But when we are out with friends, I feel so embarrassed. People start asking if I don't like my food, or I am sick. I try to come up with excuses, joke around, or change the subject. A couple of times, I got food stuck, trying to "blend in" and ended up running to the bathroom with slime coming up any second :(

Lol, hubby and I ate at Applebees the other night and the waitress kept coming by asking if I would like a take out container. I was just a bit annoyed. I finally told her I wanted to eat my food there and she left me alone...at least until she offered desert. You should have seen the look of relief when we declined.

See...isn't that simple?

I wish every newly banded person reads this...there is way too much "Sky Is Falling" hysteria around here sometimes.....

Another thing, some people experience what you did, but they keep on eating, continuing to irritate the band, then pretty soon they say they "Can't keep ANYTHING down".....

If you twist your ankle, you need to stay off it to heal and rest....

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
