stupid stall. I'm so frustrated

Recommended Posts

I'm so frustrated and discouraged. I was sleeved on nov 18 and lost 10 pounds the 1st week which I know was just Water mostly. So now here I am 2 weeks and 2 days into my "3 week stall." If actually really lasts 3 weeks I'm going to lose my s**t. I even gained 2 pounds. I get that fact my body is adjusting to the trauma of surgery and also trying to hold on to everything I put in it because it thinks I'm starving it. My understanding has turned into complete frustration. I decided to up my calories thinking that would help. I went from about 500 to about 800. 200 calories was just from my Protein Shake which I hate but i suck it down anyway. I know everyone that says this is normal but it doesn't feel like it. I just makes me feel like I'm failing. It makes me feel like I wasted $12,000 of my hard earned money...ugh

Every person on here has had. Stall, I just had my 3 week post op stall as well! I gained two pounds , and it lasted two weeks +! I promise, it ends! Drink water! My np explained it like this ! If our bodies were cars, Water would be our gas! Water is the fuel that fires your metabolism! When this stall ends , lbs will start falling like butter!

I am also in the stall. I am six weeks out and have not lost anything in three weeks. I did loose almost 40 pounds the first three weeks. I am ready for it to start coming off again.

I stalled at 3 weeks, too, and it turned out I was dehydrated. I had other symptoms, too (side and back pain, shoulder pain, constipation...) I forced down the Water and all my symptoms went away within 2-3 days and I lost 3 pounds. Try your best to drink as much water as you can get towards what your doctor wants to you drink.

Hang in there! This will pass and you will start losing again. Pay attention to your body and you'll notice it's still changing. Your measurements are continuing to get smaller even when the scale isn't moving. Quit weighing every day and save yourself the frustration. In another month you'll be amazed at the changes!

My 3 week stall lasted a full month! It was horrible and very emotional. But, this too shall pass. I'm 5 months out and 87lbs down! Just keep following your plan and you'll lose the weight

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
