Before Surgery ***tom***

So if you're bleeding during surgery how do you wear a pad? Can you wear underwear? What about a tampon? I will ask the nurse but am trying to think ahead so I don't sound like an idiot, lol.

That's a great question !!

The hospital will normally supply you with a mesh panty and a pad. No tampons allowed. You won't sound like an idiot asking :) I wasn't sure either when I went in for day of surgery.

My surgery was yesterday. I felt so awful. Like I was bleeding everywhere. I used the mesh panties and big ol pads during the surgery and the first night. This am I was able to clean up a bit and put on my own panties/ pad that made a world of difference. Much more supportive. . no tampon because theyre measuring all the urine. And last night I had a catheter.

I was so upset when it came on friday, but eveyone says its very common. My nurses have been great.

This apparently happens all the time because the nurse even asked me if I had started my TOM that day (the day of surgery) and I had not but once I got out of surgery it was there. It was actually 8 days early. Then I got it again 2 weeks later. It took a few months to get back on a regular schedule. The surgery is a shock to the system and lots of hormones going all wacky so dont be alarmed if your schedule is off for a while.

I got mine the day before.

I'm now 9 months out, down 100lbs from my heaviest and my tom is STILL not regular. It git crazy... like 50+ days in a cycle. Now it's down to 38. But talk about stress each month. I'm not trying to get pregnant! I just got my sexy back!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
