  1. How soon after bypass did u start drinking alcohol? I know beer is out, but a friend is having a big birthday bash soon and I was wondering. I am only 7 weeks out. I will be about 9 by then. Im pretty confident finding what I can eat in social situations without feeling awkward but im not a big drinker as it is.... I just dont wanna feel/seem like a total party pooper.

  5. I got scared the night before... I started thinking of all the what ifs and probably slept about 2hours. But it is and WILL BE all worth it. I am 5 weeks out now, and down 31lbs. I am having a wonderful experience so far. Wish u the best!
  6. I wasnt able to have ANYTHING from midnight sunday, surgery was monday. Mouth and throat were extremely dry when I came out, and same thing.... absolutely nothing to eat or drink until I had the swallow test tuesday am.

  8. Mine looked like that too...doc said it was a bit of a burn from the surgical glue. I am 5 weeks. All but one of my incisions are healed.
  9. Ooohh yeah i gave those to my son when he was little. Thats a great idea. And they have a bunch of flavors. Also walmart has a brand thats even cheaper.
  10. If u can tolerate them... break up a few rice cakes. Throw em in a baggie and sprinkle the popcorn seasoning (i like the white cheddar) and shake it up.
  11. Hi... great question. Alot of people asked me this. My surgeon told me since I have history of acid reflux that the sleeve was not an option for me. I really wanted the sleeve at first, I felt the bypass was so much more invasive... but I am 5 weeks out now and am so happy with my choice. I weigh in tomorrow. But last time I checked I was down 30lbs. I am hoping that I am under the 200 point tomorrow!! Fingers r crossed.
  12. How long ago was ur surgery?
  13. I have what I call my sort-of wls bucket list. -zipline -paintball -wear heels -play twister w/my kids *take lots of pictures. I'm just 3 weeks out so in time to start the new year off right! !

  17. Hi... I'm 3 weeks out SW 244 surg date 232 today 209. 1. The anesthesia was so scary. I woke up feeling like I'd be sick, then panicked thinking what would happen if I did. 2. That the hospital I was in was SO noisy .. sounds silly but, it was crazy. Everytime I dozed off I was woken by slamming doors. 3. That some of my friends would be jealous. .. almost mean. That being said.... yes, my hospital stay was rough but I left wit no pain meds. Incisions are just about healed. No pain. No trouble tolerating anything so far. Some constipation... but working on getting more Water in.
  18. I am 3 weeks out. And its been almost a week. Also... I just started soft foods. I feel so sick and full that I can't even get another sip of water in.... I tried milk of magnesia, nothing!! Any other suggestions??
