February Surgeries

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I think a pre op class is really helpful, we don't have those where I am having my surgery. I am having my pre admission tests on Monday and meeting the bariatric nurse so I am sure that will he helpful. Only just over a week after that until my surgery. Several of you will be having yours next week though and my thoughts are with you all with your diets beforehand and any last minute jitters (or maybe that's just me!)

Take care

I wish I had a class like that as well. But I think I meet with my NUT 6 weeks post op and she'll go over that kind of stuff (hope so!).

Well last night I wasn't feeling great, achy, cold, tired, etc. I went to bed super early and I woke up today feeling like I have a cold and my ear are all plugged. This cannot have an impact on my surgery!!!! I cannot reschedule again, I'd lose it. Urgh. I think I might stop by the doc to have him look at my ears. I had an ear infection about 3 weeks ago. If he can give me antbx now it would be great. Surgery is Monday.

Nerves are getting to me. liquid diet starts tomorrow...surgery Tuesday. Praying for strength.

Hi,

I am nervous enough and I am a whole week after you! Stay strong and let us know how you are after your surgery and keep in touch here until then. We all know what you are going through, because in different ways we all seem to be feeling anxious and concerned about it all. It will all be worth it in the end, or that's what I keep telling myself!

Take care

I got some antibiotics as the doc thinks it's a sinus infection coming on. He's good to be helping me beat this. Hoping to get another good night's sleep. Can't believe only 3 more sleeps! I've been listing out a weekly planner for my husband.

Kim, So glad things are looking up. Pam (my wife) got her approval and is going for late March surgery. I should be all ready to help her then. She is being so good now..won't even eat in front of me. Don't think she will have the nerves I have, she will see how it goes for me.

Hi,

Kim I am really glad that you have some antibiotics. I do hope that feel better in the next two days, then all set for Monday, I am thinking of you.

Ken, that is amazing that Pam's date is so close to yours. I think we are all feeling a bit nervous and jittery, I know I am!

Erin, I hope you are feeling ok before your op on Monday, I will be thinking of you

Doris, not long now I think these mixed feelings must be very normal ,looking at everyone eles's posts. I do find reading them so helpful. Mine is on the 11th so only a few days before you.

Take care all of you

Claire

What is everyone bringing to the hospital with them? I mean I'm obviously bringing my phone and a robe and slippers but that's all I can think to bring. Anyone have any suggestions?

Blueyz80,

Good question. I thought I'd get a list from the hospital. I've noticed some in the past list plain Chapstick. I wonder why plain. I'm following to see some replays.

Tkauhi,

I never thought about chapstick that's a good one! I go to my support group meeting on the 12th of this month so I'll ask them what they think too! But I'm hoping to get a general idea before then.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
