When is/was your lapband surgery date?

What was your starting weight and current/goal weight?

I was banded February 1st of this year. Starting weight was 291 (my first appointment with my surgeon in June 2012.), I was 268 on the day of my surgery, and I am 166 today. I had a really hard time with deciding on a goal weight. I randomly picked 175 when I decided to have the surgery, and I wanted to get to that goal by my 2 year surgiversary. My dr actually told me that goal might not be a realistic goal in that time frame, as weightloss with the band is usually slow. Well, I reached that goal in under 9 months. Now I've chosen 152...which will make me a normal BMI.

Surgery 11/5/2013 -- I started at 248 and lost 10 pre-op diet, down 11 more since. Current weight 227 with a goal of 148 (will see when I get down there what feels right).

That info is on my ticker but I'll post it here as well. I was banded on January 14, 2013. My preop weight was 267 and the day of surgery, I was 250 lbs. I weighed myself this morning and am 171 1/2 lbs. which puts me at 95 1/2 lbs. lost. I would like to get closer to 150 lbs so another 20 or so would get me there.

Just be aware Coach, that these are just numbers and we reach all kinds of goals before we reach 'goal weight'. For some of us, it's smaller sized clothing. It's also fitting into airplane seats comfortably, or being able to slide into a restaurant booth. For others, it's being in less joint pain, or being able to walk/run/exercise. That's why non scale victories are so important. Those happen throughout the weight loss journey and are real motivators to keep you compliant and keep your eye on the prize.

Good luck with your journey!

I was banded on November 21st. I started the process in June at 371. Hovered in the 370's (reaching a high of 378) until I started my pre op diet, lost nine and was 369 on the morning of my surgery. I don't know what I weigh right now. I am concentrating on healing, not the scale. I will say, I feel smaller... We'll see when I get weighed at my post op follow up. :)

I was banded in August 6 years ago. I started out at 263 and now stay right around 175 and have maintained that weight for three years. I went from a size 24/26 to a 14. I would probably be a size smaller if I could afford the Tummy Tuck, arm lift and thigh reduction, but I am who I am and don't stress over it. I exercise daily with at least a two mile walk each day and usually more on the weekends and work out with weight 2-3 times a week.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...
