Any February 2014 Sleevers?

Recommended Posts

I didn't sleep at all the night before surgery!

Neither did I. I couldn't. Not a wink. Then I had a 3 hr drive to the hospital.

Ok! First morning post-op! I feel great! No gas pain, gas in bowels or gas from surgery! I have tolerable pain in my abdomen with 5 lap sites. I've had no nausea, but I have Zofran ordered routinely so that has helped. I have walked the halls at least every 4 hours with no trouble. I hear that the pain is worse on days 2,3, & 4 post-op, but I am very optimistic! I wish everyone's recovery could go this well! I haven't passed gas yet, but I don't feel pressure or the need. I have a barium swallow scheduled with the surgeon this morning. Then I'll be allowed more Clear Liquids (not just ice). If I tolerate the liquids well, I'll be discharged this afternoon! No regrets here! Wishing luck to those going to surgery today!

Anyone having sleeping problems post op?

I should have cold here first. Yes. I am off pain meds and unable to sleep. Maybe 3 hours a night if I'm lucky. I'm also having the same issue with Protein and calorie intake. Less than 300 cals a day and around 50-60 pro. I feel terrible.

I'm here no and there's no going back :) my surgery was yesterday afternoon. Apparently it went very smooth, and ignoring the fact I feel like a mule kicked me in the gut I'm doing well.

15 days post opp. Exercising two days a week for an hour a day. Walking 1 1/4 mile three days a week. Have moved to soft food and only two shakes a day. I feel terrific. Weight is 257 down from 295 pre opp. Starting to wear clothes I haven't had on in years. Hope the next 15 days go as well as these have.

Hi everyone, I am Angie and I had my surgery 2/11. I was pretty miserable until like 6 days after it, getting rid of the gas was so hard. I have a question, everything I have makes me burp right away. I sip Water, Protein Shake, Soup and all is the same. Is this normal?? Also I lost 17lbs but nothing in the last 3 days and that freaks me out. I am so glad I found this app, thanks

Hi.

I has my 2/5 I lost 13 lbs and nothing in the last 3 days so you are not alone. Be encouraged the weight will come off in due time.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...
