Anyone else still able to tolerate all foods?

Recommended Posts

I can tolerate pretty much everything but chicken...it gets me nearly every time so I just try to avoid it. Also candy...I tolerated some at Halloween then had a crazy moment where I had a bit more..nope! My 1st real dumping episode. candy is out! bread and rice aren't in my diet much but haven't had any probs.

Can tolerate pretty much anything that I have tried including bacon, ice cream. The two big no no's. Fat and sugar, it is in moderation and I mean moderation. Also had hard bread and was able to tolerate that. Had surgery 9/11/13. Now with all that said, I'm going to have to stay away from those, that was the issue that got me to the point of being overweight. So going to have to slap my hands when I reach for those particular things.

Carbs still hurt my pouch...haven't tried anything with sugar, but noodles and tortillas really hurt my pouch.

I still have no room for carbs. I tried quinoa the other day for the first time. It was good but I could only eat a couple of tablespoons. There's just no room after my Protein. I have been following my plan religiously so I haven't had any sugar, Pasta, rice, or bread. If it doesn't contain protein I don't eat it.

Yep, I can eat/drink everything except milk. I buy Almond milk now which is great. I haven't tried anything with a high sugar content, only because I don't like sweet things. But I've had no problems at all with everything else.

I've swapped to soy milk and almond also. Good Calcium and let tummy discomfort.

I thought it was just me. I'm relieved I'm not the only one not tolerating chicken. I don't eat bread much because I'd rather have more good stuff. Like the other day I had a slice of pizza and only ate the toppings, that.was.awesome!

I'm a sleever but it is interesting that so few bypassers seem to dump. I have seen people specifically going for bypass so they WOULD dump if they ate the "wrong" things. I hope they haven't been disappointed. A very few sleevers dump too. Lots of sleevers have trouble with really dry dense Protein, fluffy bread, rice, and really fibrous veggies though. I don't have trouble with anything in moderation as long as I chew chew chew. I don't think any of us can rely on the "bad" foods making us sick to stay on the straight and narrow. Long term, everyone seems to adapt. It is so interesting to me how sleevers and bypassers seem to have similar journeys in the long term.

Chicken is my kryptonite. I can't eat it in any form except ground. I also can't tolerate tuna, rice, or any food that has rice flour.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
