Lap Post Surgery and Sex

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone,

Perhaps I've missed it in another thread, but I was wondering how long after surgery did it take until your um, libido to return? I know this is a weird question, but the does the port get "disturbed" during...you know? I am just trying to get all the info I can to inform my partner and myself. Thanks, and I look forward to reading your posts. :myscared:

Hey Kity,

I was worried about the same thing before my surgery LOL.

Umm it took me about 2 weeks before my libido came back and for the first few times u just have to be careful u don't disturb the port site or strain the area.

On another note, now that where sharing:) , once ur weight starts to drop, ur libido picks up like never before.

The only uncomfortable part I have found is if he lays directly on top of my port area and it gets pushed in to my ribs - otherwise, no problems at all. Enjoy!!

My DH has a habit of using my upper stomach area (where my wounds are) to leverage himself ..sheesh!!

Anyhow, my libido has gone up with the 26 pounds lost, but his has gone up even more. Its all good!

Tell him to use the headboard!

Ok but seriously, a new thread comes around every few months and that is totally ok by me, they always make me smile, because truly everyone wants to know. You can have sex as soon as you feel up to it, if that's 2 days after surgery go for it. Just don't do anything that is uncomfortable for you. Many women like to hold and add a little pressure to their port site for the first couple of months to help keep it from being irritated from jiggling.

For the record I waited till after my stitches were out becuase I had this terrible fear that I was just gonna bust open somehow, but that's just me :guess

For informational purposes only, of course, my libido came back after about a week of sleeping my pain medication off. It was slow at first and we kind of had to position on the side kind of thing to avoid my port and even now I can't lay fully on my port for too long. But it didn't take long for it to come back as it was before.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
