So my surgery has been cancelled. My potassium is 2.9 after increasing my supplements by 3x...I'm so upset. I have everything in order with work, my kids, pre op diet going...ughhh

Oh, my! So sorry to hear this. You must be soooo frustrated and surprised. I barged in to give you a hand squeeze when I saw your heading in the VST ticker, so I don't know your history with potassium, but (again) I'm so sorry!

Thank you, that's sweet :) i had to have IV potassium when I had my Lap band removed in March, have been taking big horse pills since. Dr took me off a med that had a diuretic in it and increased me to the pill 4 x a day, but says it won't be high enough by Wednesday. I don't know when I'll be able to get this done now with work and kids and all, plus my job doesn't like to allow time off nov & dec cause it's our busy season...stressed!

I KNOW it must be frustrating, but think of it this way. All good things come to those who wait. Would you rather have the surgery now and have complications? IMHO = you are blessed to have a surgeon who is looking out for you. Recovery is can be brutal, even if everything goes as expected. Best of luck! It'll happen in no time.

Wow! Sorry to hear this. Please be careful now that you are on more supplements AND off the diuretic. Watch out for side effects of too much K.

I just had my band to sleeve Monday and my K dropped to 3.0 from normal, so I can see why there is concern...

What a crazy day...my dr. Just called, he spoke with the surgeon, wants me to come for more blood work Monday am to see if levels increased so hopefully to keep me on track for Wednesday! I'm happy to at least have the chance to still be sleeved next week. Hopefully I can get that # up. Thanks for all the support :)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
