I had my three month check up with my surgeon today; surgery was 12/2. I've lost 60 pounds. I no longer need to take omeprazole and need to take Vitamin B every other day. Loving my sleeve.

Shelby- I too felt the wrath of the slider at the movie theatre a few days ago. It's was my first time having popcorn since surgery and I assured my friend that he should only get a small since there was no way I'd be able to eat more than two fist fulls. Well- he got a medium and I'll be damned if I didn't help him finish the bag. This was my first time experiencing that feeling since surgery. Even after leaving the movie, I was ready for dinner. Needless to say, my tryst with popcorn was short lived. Won't be doing that again! :( . 12/17/13....Felipe the Sleeve was born. 3 months is creeping up fast!!!! Down 50lbs... Weight loss has slowed considerably since I discovered the real dangers of sliders.... Pork rinds, pickles, mini triscits and buttered popcorn... I just had to tell Felipe "no more!" So were back at the gym, preparing for a 5k, shopping, wearing a size 12!...and respecting the journey always. Shelby

Yes...thanks for sharing...popcorn is really the worst because its delicious, high in fat and literally you could eat it endlessly without stopping...

Im glad I'm not alone with this....been cold turkey on the Snacks for about 3 days and i lost a pound this morning....yay!!!!

Shel

Yes, I found popcorn too, I make it at home - air popped but with 1 Tbs. melted butter. I only eat it on days that I have worked out. I increased my carbs about 3 weeks ago because of the foggy brain feeling. I am averaging about 60 carbs a day, no more than 900-1000 calories a day. I'm still losing, not as fast as some of you, but I feel better now.

Today I swam laps for 40 mins. - swimming the crawl - I love swimming!

Anyone else losing hair? I still am.

I'm so sorry your sleeve has been treating you badly. Were you having the same problems on the liquid diet?

When I had the band, I had a fair amount of puking-- mostly when I took too big a bite. I've been a bit compulsive about small bites now, and it seems to be paying off. Though I still occasionally take too big a drink of Water and that hurts. Ah, well.

Ty Wombat, I just got home from barium swallow test and it showed a narrowing right at the point of food going down. He said he sees the liquid getting caught up, so he's going to send results to my doc bc he says I need to be scoped and possibly dilation bc my foods and liquids should not still b getting caught up and choking me. He said its pretty tight. I'm glad to know that something can b done about it now, perhaps I'll start to enjoy my journey... most of all, ty for ur concern:)))

Deez, I'm so glad that they found the reason for your issues...and yes, it will be wonderful to have some resolution (and hopefully some relief). I'm praying for you and look forward to no more restriction!

Best wishes for a speedy solution Deez. Complications suck but things will be great long-term.

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
