I love and buy only the Cliff Builder's 20g Protein bars in chocolate mint. The best price or at least around Boston is at Target. My dietitian told me to buy those because they have the 20g of protein. I have also had the chocolate and chocolate Peanut Butter, but the mint I love. I also keep them cold.

Arlene - how many calories to the Cliff Builder's have? I'm looking to venture out & try some different ones.

Which Quest bar did you try? I didn't care for the chocolate, but I love the chocolate chip cookie dough, and the vanilla almond crunch. The chocolate Peanut Butter weren't bad, either. I love Quest because they have 17 grams of Fiber plus all that Protein. Helps me with other issues - lol! But they're expensive.....$2.79/each. Even if I buy a box of 12, they're still about $2.49/each.

I also like the Quest , cookie dough and vanilla crunch.. they have less sugar and more Protein than most bars.. some of the protein bars have a huge amount of sugar, which is not good for me. the other protein bars I like are muscle milk but for some reason I can't find them in Walmart or anywhere anymore... they were also only about 2 gms of sugar and 20 grams protein...

Yeah......a Quest bar and plenty of Water during the day, has completely stopped my need for Miralax

I believe that the Vitamin Shoppe carries the Muscle Milk bars. I haven't tried them yet, but I will pick one up next time I'm in the store. I also have a BIG problem with sugar, and some of the other bars mentioned, are loaded with it. Gives me that blood sugar spike, then the fast drop where I become a shaky, brain dead idiot. That is one cycle that sets me up for out of control eating, and since I've been living a pretty clean life since surgery, I seem to be even more sensitive to it.

I have been a big fan of the Atkins Advantage and keep them around when I need a quick meal replacement.

For a snack, I absolutely love the Atkins chocolate hazel nut bars. OMG - it's like eating a candy bar, but only has 3 net carbs. Such a treat! The Atkins caramel nut chew bars are exactly like Snickers, minus all the sugar and calories. Every time I eat one I'm waiting for the sugar shakes, but it never happens. Amazing....

I tried cookie dough. It wasn't horrible. White chocolate raspberry was awful. Maybe I will keep trying and try Luna as well. Have heard good things about them.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
