3 Days Post Op and I feel good but...

I had my surgery Thursday late afternoon and everything went very well. I was supposed to go home that day but my oxygen levels weren't satisfactory so I had to stay the night. Wasn't happy about that. But anyway I've been eating soup, hot ginger tea, sugar free jello, 25 gram Lean Protein Shakes and water. Also taking a chewable multi vitamin. I do have shoulder and neck pain from the gas. But it's manageable. My abdomen is also sore and it's hard to get up and down. I walk everyday. I'm doing well in regards to not being overly hungry. Occasionally I've been craving pretzels. But what I wanted to know is it ok for me to have sugar free cough drops, as long as I suck on them?

Hi Nancy, glad you are recovering well. I am going in 11/5 and it will be overnight -- just the way they do it at the hospital I'm going to (barium swallow next AM before leaving). Can't answer your cough drop question -- don't swallow by mistake! Congrats on having this behind you and now new chapter beginning. Here's to health and happiness!
