December Surgeries!?!?!?

Recommended Posts

I don't know why but that last post of mine changed my acronym for Health Maintenance Organization to asterisks. I didn't want anyone to think I was using expletives. But I have to admit I've thought of some during this journey!

I was about to say they must have been not nice people! Lol. I spoke to surgeon's office and confirmed everything was submitted today and she assumes I will know by monday. And I also found out they want me on my pre op diet starting monday. I have been working on this since June and I can't believe I am 22 days away!! Grocery shopping this weekend for pre op diet ! Ordering my shakes and Vitamins too!! Did u buy bariatric vitamins ? I am just to be safe but not sure if there's an actual difference

I'm starting the Liquid Protein plus Clear Liquids diet tomorrow. I'm using Body Fortress brand whey Protein Powder. It's at wal-mart and the cheapest I've found. The surgeons group recommended Celebrate Vitamins. So I ordered those online today since I'll need to start taking them after I'm released from the hospital. Celebrate is also the cheapest bariatric supplements I've found.

I start the liquid pre-op diet tomorrow. A little ticked that my doctors office would not ok a small amount of food on Thanksgiving, since I've seen on here that many doctors did ok it. But I bought my Protein Meal Replacements and Vitamins today and had a practice run. I had that dern powder all over me. It was on my pants, keyboard, papers. I'm like no no no this won't work gotta do it at home lol!!!! God bless us everyone!

I bought organic powdered vitamins at GNC. The rep knew what I was doing and seemed to know what he was doing. Plus I went with a co worker who had the same procedure done 4 yrs ago and has been going to GNC ever since.

Im sure you are absolutely right. I'm sure many back out. The impatient side of me wants it done NOW but in reality, the wait is for the best for most being it is a life long change to our God given bodies. For me, I've been wanting and researching the surgery for years. I made the final decision to follow through when life just became not fun anymore, everyday normal things became difficult to do, and I realized that for at least the past 5 years, I've sat in my house/bedroom rotting and getting larger, while most of the world was enjoying their lives. I want to enjoy life. I want to smile. I don't want to hide in my bedroom anymore.

You are telling my story I'm hoping for early jan I can hear the disprare in your words and I know the feelings Irish you blessings and soon a smile you don't have to fake . Lets keep intouch (pre op sw 347 cw334 gw150)

I got a call today that my surgery has been moved from 12-31 to 12-19. My last day of work(teacher) before winter break is 12-18! Was planning to get through Christmas before the surgery but now it's a go earlier than expected. Feeling quite apprehensive...like I have a million things to get done in the next few weeks.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
