Hi! I posted this yesterday but, i wanted to see if i could get more advice...Does anyone know of any other alternatives for post op Vitamins ? My nutritionist told me about "OptiSource" and it has to be taken 4x a day. But its costs roughly 30 for 120 pills... I want to find out if theres something cheaper out there or something where i dont have to take it that many times a day... Thank you !! :-)

My NUT recommends Bariatric Fusion. It is 4x a day chewable, but she said with this, I wouldn't need any other supplements unless I tested low for something.

So I know we're not supposed to take a multi Vitamin within two hours of taking the Calcium but what about taking back to back calcium? Or back to back Multi Vitamins? Is it still the two hours or is it longer. I goofed today and took my calciums 2 hours apart. Also I've been taking a sublingual Biotin. Any time restrictions with that?

I was told we have to take calcium citrate, because after surgery our bodies aren't capable of absorbing calcium carbonate...

Is there any way to get around doing chewables of the multis? They seriously male me gag - is there a swallow able Multivitamin that can be taken specific to bypass patients?

My doc said to take chewables for as long as I can but after six months if I couldn't stand them any longer I could switch.

@kcarr1120 i was taking a chewable optisrource then switched to pills. But i talked to my nutritionist yesterday and she said pills are not okay to take bc they dont absorb in our small pouches.

I got Celebrate chewables and they taste horrible and the Calcium vit. were huge however I was stuck with them because I didn't want to waste them. They were not expensive and I think they were like a 60 and 90 day supply. Before I even had my surgery my nutritionist and the bariatric nurse were telling us that for some people the liquid vitmans worked best. So once I was out of my 1st supply I got the liquid multi and Calcium Vitamin and I have been using that every since and its by welless. Now Celebrate also has these like candy chewable Vitamins and the caramel and chocolate tatse just like candy. Hope this helps.

I just bought a liquid B12 that u put under ur tounge for 30seconds and a viactive carmel and Flinstones gummies. I have yet to try it today and hopefully theyre not bad. The only thing i couldnt find were the Iron supplements. I also spent like 40 bucks on pills and my nutritionist said that was probably the reason why i was feeling nauseas bc im not supposed to swallow pills

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
