water aerobics

Recommended Posts

Anyone else do Water aerobics? I love it! I alternate aerobics with deep water running with an aquajogger and daily walking. Good toning and calorie burning with no joint pain. Happy. :)

I have been doing Water aerobics on and off for the last 10 years. When I hurt my knees before the surgery it was a life saver. Now I do it twice a week on the days where it is more carbo driven. I have now moved on to the elliptical which is now my favorite machine. I think that if you are happy with it, stick to it. It does help tone and the baggy skin will go away.

I have nerve damage throughout my chest wall so any exercise where I have to hold my trunk upright can be very painful. The Water supports my trunk and makes everything easier. I also use flotation weights for resistance. Can tell the difference already.

I was also a competitive swimmer for twelve years so I think my blood is 90% chlorine!

Just found an aqua zumba class! Going to start next week!

They also have an aqua boot camp, but I'm a afraid I won't be able to handle it. Has anyone had to stop during a class, and if so, how did you handle it?

Just found an aqua zumba class! Going to start next week!

I am going to Aqua Zumba tomorrow! Excited to see what it is all about, and I think I talked my husband into going with me.

Let me know how it is!

I will post tomorrow afternoon when I get back. My biggest problem is that I only dance when I am drinking! haha. My body doesn't go in the directions I tell it to!

I did have a lady today tell me not to be afraid of it, that its kind of the same moves we are doing in regular Water aerobics, with much better music.

I tried it once & didn't much care for it. We have a Water kickboxing class that is real good. Works all your muscles.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
