Yup! They mean well, but damn. Today a patient of mine for the last 6 years looked at me and said 'damn, you're hot!!' Much better then 'but she has such a pretty face'

I think the main thing that I won't miss is being a woman and having to go into the Casual male big and tall to shop for t shirts. It's sucks to have to go in there and pay$30 for a plain white t shirt in a size 7xl. So ready to shop at normal stores!!

I won't miss having trouble getting in/out of vehicles, chairs, booths. Always feeling like people are judging me. Only having 2 stores to shop in. Sweating while getting dressed after a shower. Getting winded going up stairs. Everyone in my family automatically letting me sit shotgun because they know I won't fit in the back or the seatbelt won't fit. Not being able to kneel or squat to play with friends kids. Not feeling worthy of having a boyfriend....so many more

I completely understand about the front seat of the car. I hate that especially because I can fit in a back seat.

I won't miss "man boobs" or blowing the crotch out of my pants or shorts.

I won't miss my buddies asking me to do some physical activity and me making an excuse or just say "dude I'm too fat"

I won't miss my 2yo boy wanting to play cars with me on the floor but every part of my body falling asleep from sitting on the floor.

I won't miss not fitting in 80% of the cars made now a days.

I won't miss not being able to ride rides at an amusement park.

I won't miss not being able to run without feeling like I'm going to die.

I won't miss getting into a boat and feeling like its going to sink like the titanic.

I won't miss going to a drive through and ordering a bunch of food for myself but acting like I have a note of stuff to order for other people. "Did you want hot sauce with that" "umm hm ya know they didn't say"...

I won't miss cutting the grass and feel like I'm going to die.

I won't miss doing the fat person stretch on all my shirts before putting them on.

I won't miss not drying my shirts because I didn't want them to shrink.

I would say I won't miss not fitting in the bathtub but I'm 6'6 so that's still not going to happen.

I won't miss the feeling that I always smell.

Too name a few.

Well u know what I noticed?!? I am opening the bathroom door in public bathrooms and not try to do some weird dance squeezing in and trying not to brush all up on the toilet trying to get into the stall cause the area inside the stall is too small. I hate public toilets anyways and totally get grossed out. Feel so much better when I'm able to just open the door and walk in.

I completely agree! And I'm sorry if this is TMI but I can't wait until I can comfortably wipe myself while in a stall. Right now I use the handicapped one because of all the twisting I have to do.

Of all the lists on here, THIS IS IT (minus the man boobs!)!! A lot of these are so me! And they're different from some of the others. I would just add not being worried about being an embarassment to my son when he gets older

These are really great. My fave is the one about going through the drive-thru....I thought that was my little secret move....

I will not miss having to ask for a chair with no arms. It's so embarrassing!

I also will not miss having to wait for an electric scooter when I go to the store.

I won't miss not being able to shop at stores who don't have electric scooters.

I won't miss this war going on in my brain. Fighting not to eat when I know I am not hungry. I just want to snack.< /p>

I will not miss the stares and snickers I get when I am in a scooter at a store.

I defiantly won't miss little kids pointing and saying "look mommy she's fat". When I'm with my own kids and they get mad and defensive and wants to knock the little kid out.

I won't miss not being able to carry my daughter around. I was so happy when she started walking so I could walk with her and hold her hand. I was never able to carry her to far. Mostly because of my back pain and leg and knee pain.

The last thing I won't miss is people tell me I am going to fail. People saying come on let's go out to eat when they know you are trying to loose weight. I sometimes have to cuss people out because they don't understand what I am fighting for. I am fighting for my life here. No I don't need that pizza or those burgers and fries!! Let me have my shake and stop asking me!! :)

I will not miss:

Huffing and puffing crossing the parking lot at work

Always being hot

Never looking good in my clothes

Never wanting to go out

Not fitting in airline/ theater/ ride etc...seats

Not being active

Not being comfortable being intimate

Not being able to breathe after eating

Giant, heavy, skirted bathing suits

Watching from the sidelines

Feeling like I'm wearing a fat suit/ being uncomfortable in my own skin

Spending all my hard earned money on massive quantities of food

Not fitting in allll my beautiful jewelry

Granny panties

Ugly utility style bras

Horrible back pain

sleeping in the recliner

Staying inside all summer

............

I actually told a friend of my sisters that he's the guy that would ask an alcoholic to have just one beer with him when he kept after me to go out to a buffet with them! Also having to use the handicapped stall in the restroom, and ordering two or three drinks in the drive through to pretend I am getting food for more than just me! It's been a long journey to get to this point and I am so ready to get the extra help having this surgery will give me!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
