Surgery Dates for July

Well, here I am with my date for surgery and it's a lot further away than I had hoped but scheduled nonetheless. My date is July 3rd, 2013. I have my PreOp class on June 18th. They gave me two dates in June but both coincided with my sister's pregnancy dates (baby shower and birth) and since my mom will be taking care of both of us (in two different states) I waited on mine until July. It's not as quick as I had hoped but I'm glad it's scheduled and I'm on my way :-)

Blessings,

Chris

I have 2 weeks of optifast (shakes, bars, and soups) and a cup of water based vegetables ie lettuce) I don't start until the second week of July. Anyone else have to do optifast?

Did your liquid diets consist of one small meal and then shakes?

No. I have to have a protein drink for breakfast, lunch, dinner and evening snack. I can have SF jello and SF popsicles and a limited number of fruits and veggies (but only a max. of 2 cups of those a day). I can honestly say I don't feel that hungry but I'm already sick of the shakes and I'm only 1 day in. Ughhh!!!

Hi' date=' guys! I just got my surgery date last night. I'm scheduled for July 29 and I have to admit I'm starting to freak out a little! I think it's because it seems more real now that there is an actual date set.[/quote']

I'm right with ya had no scared feelings till I found out my date. Maybe because I'm hungry because I'm on a 4 week liquid diet, I'm miserable.

Had to call today to get my arrival time. Have to be there at 10:15am on Monday and surgery is scheduled for 12:15pm. I didn't really get nervous until today. But I still think my excitement for the new me is going to kick my nerves away :)

I am scheduled for July 3rd. Preop is scheduled for July 2nd and I am really excited. I would be lying if I said I am not nervous but I would be for any surgery. I am trying to make sure I have everything prepared at home so life will be easy. My doctor gave me a "shopping list" that make post op life a little easier. I have been on my preop diet for 8 days now and have lost 12 lbs. Ready for the numbers to drop.

My surgery is July 10. Today is day 6 of optifast liquid diet, not going to badly for the most part. Yesterday I was whit queasy and dizzy but I think it was because I went to long between shakes.

Would you mind sharing the shipping list your doctor have you? I am also trying to get organized and would love to see if I have everything I need. Thanks.

Good luck to everyone in July :-)

Just got approved yesterday, finally! It feels so much less stressful, knowing that I am really, seriously approved. I guess the third time (submitting documents to my insurance) was the charm :) No more insurance battles! I was originally hoping for a May surgery date, then I was postponed to June, & now July. The scheduler is going to call me on Weds with my date. Really, really hoping for a July date. If she says August, I think I might have to scream!
